I dont think the ABS system on a protege is that advanced. Knowing all the tire speeds and whatnot is usualy part of a 4wd system with stability control, something that, correct me if i'm wrong, only really came about in other cars in later years.
No not that advanced It puts the braking power all axles. If the sensor reads it skiding it will cut back on the brake pressure to that axle. (the pulses you feel with ABS). So the way i understand it, it will cut back on your inside tires in a hard corner breaking situation if it felt it about to slip and keep the power on braking the outside tires. The speed sensor is right behind the calipers on vehichles with this feature.
