About to buy a welded lsd ...

It was welded brand new, and then use for 10K ... now the rest of the tranny died so the guy is selling his welded diff for 350

1) i dont know the vallue of this, is the price ok ?
2) is there a way to know wich version it is?
3) what else should i change while inserting the lsd in my tranny?

do some searches on this board or talk to ken at protegegarage their was some debate on whether or not welded lsds will hold up im sure he could let you know.
 
I'd take a pass on it and go new if you are going that route. Get the latest version welded already from Protege Garage or an MFactory. An install kit is needed 2 differential bearings, 2 axle seals, 2 shaft lock nuts, and input shaft seal. Those will usually be included by the selling vendor when you buy new.
