? about Apexi universal filter...

I'm really interested in the Apexi universal filter. As I understand I'll need the 70mm adapter, but does it couple directly to the stock intake tube at the MAF or will I still need to buy an intake (SRI/CAI) for it to mate to? Thanks in advance... (drinks)

I think you'll have buy an adapter sincethey make one for the Protege. Or if you're lucky you can buy the one for the Miata and modify it to fit the Protege. Goodluck.

Buy a CAI or SRI and put the filter on it to gain more hp/tq

Because if you just put the filter at the end of the MAF it will give you some power but not that much, since the MAF will get really hot from the engine bay and decrease performance.

like i've said before, you need a 70mm adapter, silicon connector (70mm), and the filter. the adapter comes with the filter, so just order the adapter. it should come out to like $75ish. you'll get the filter, gasket, adapter, and screws. you won't have a place for the iat sensor unless you drill the adapter... i didn't want to do that, so the iat sensor is RIGHT NEXT TO the filter. you'll get some rubbing against the coolant bottle, so put the metal connector on the filter against it... you'll know what i'm talkin about when you get it. good luck.

forgot to mention, i had it on the maf for a couple of months, i now have it on the end of the AEM cold air.

Thanks for the info guys. A Face in the Crowd, do you have autolink's contact info? I did a web search but couldn't find them.
