A/v Controller

MP3-TV

Ok guys, i need some help with something...i am looking for an audio/video controller for my MP3, i want to be able to have a DVD player, PS2, and TV tuner and be able to switch 5 different tv's to different sources....easy enough right?....well here is my dillemma..i can not find an audio/video controller with at least 3 a/v inputs and 5 a/v outputs...the only thing close was Power Acoustics 4 in 3 out model which I ordered since I only have 2 headrest tv's for now with a 7" in-dash on the way

http://www.avdeals.com/mobilevideo/AVIR3.htm

...the 2 visor tv's will be in about a month...but regardless, if i cant find a bigger controller i will be forced to do this setup:

1 headrest = 1 source

1 headrest = 1 source

2 visor & in-dash = 1 source

that sucks!!...does anyone know of any other controller i can run in my MP3 to do what i am looking for?

You want ful matrixing, ie, 1 source to any output at any time?
What is the supporting audio system for each display?
Does there need to be one overall controller for each screens source seperately or can the visors and seat screens switch together.

THE VISORS CAN HAVE THE SAME INPUT IF THEY NEED TO...THAT IS PRETTY MUCH ALL I WOULD DEAL WITH ON THE SAME SIGNAL..BUT FOR SURE I WANT TO BE ABLE TO HAVE THE IN-DASH AND 2 HEADREST TV'S ABLE TO DO INDIVIDUAL INPUTS..IDEALLY I WOULD LIKE ALL TVS TO BE ABLE TO HAVE ANY SIGNAL...

IE...5 TVS..5 DIFFERENT SIGNALS (PS2, DVD, TV, etc.)

AS FOR THE AUDIO...I WAS GONNA RUN EVERYTHING THROUGH THE INPUTS IN THE HEADUNIT..BUT THEN I WOULD ONLY HAVE ONE AUDIO SOURCE THAT COULD BE HEARD AT ONE TIME SO HERE IS WHAT I WILL DO.....PROBABLY GET SOME WIRELESS HEADPHONE, 2-4 PAIR AND SET IT UP SO THAT EACH SET IS "ASSIGNED" TO A TV SO IF THAT TV IS PLAYING A DVD..THEN THE "ASSIGNED" HEADPHONE WOULD HAVE THE DVD SOUND..

ALSO I WOULD LIKE TO BE ABLE TO CONTROL ALL THE TV INPUTS WITH ONE REMOTE :)

I know some of the eclipse units have a feature like that, but I'm not sure if they will handle that many I/Os
you could always build a switcher, or use something like they use to feed A/V signals throughout houses (rackmount?)

SOunds like you looking for a 5x5 matrix audio and video switcher. Possibly the only thing to do it would be an extron or other commercial AV component but I don't know what the audio would be like, ie ground loops. Also a remote that controlled all screens would switch every screen in range.

It seems that each monitor should be on a single input and the switcher will take care of the rest.

I went and took a close look at the av/controller i just ordered...here is what the remote looks like..well a drawing of it...
(see pic)

also it has 4 power connections, 1 for power to the a/v controller and one for each tv..I can turn the tv's on or off with the remote..i like it..i have a toggle switch that does that now..but i will like this setup much better.

its ir...there is an ir sensor that plugs into the controller that i can stash somewhere where the remote control can see it..but its all wireless baby..yea!

Well if the remote is Ir when you go to change one visor or head rest if the other display works off the same IR codes then both will switch.

no because the remote control will control the source on the a/v controller, not the tv's...so the first row of buttons will control output 1 on the a/v controller, the second row, output 2 and so on...the remote control doesnt actually have any thing to do with the tv's..just the a/v controller

How many inputs does each monitor have?
DOes audio always fallow video to the monitors?
Does audio to the main monitor in the dash go to the stereo system?
What main unit are you using?
What is the overall budget for this endevor?
How many sources do you have to give the monitors?

headrest and visors have 1 input each...in-dash should have 2

audio should always follow the video

yes

whatever it costs

right now just the ps2..but soon i will have an additional dvd, tv tuner, and maybe a vcr to round it out
