Thank you very much. Thats the answer I was looking for. I brought this up because I'm going turbo and the egr bung on the header snapped off when I tried to remove it from the egr tube. The damn bung is still attached to that egr nut. I tried pb blaster(tons of it) with vice grips and will not move. I figured either cap both sides or just cut the pipe, get a ftiting to fit on the exhaust mani egr bung and run some type of high temp hose from mani to egr tube and clamp it.
Cap off you exhaust mani but cut the egr tube and put a breather filter on the end that way the EGR will still see a sufficient flow and not throw a check engine code
Not anymore, sorry. I got rid of EVERYTHING emmissions or evap related when I went to the Haltech. It's easy, just lop off your EGR tube just under the water neck, and stick a breather filter on it. Simple as can be.
Well I capped off my exhaust mani but did not have a breather filter put on the egr tube. The tube is cut at the first bend from exhuast mani. Its been over 150miles since and no cel for egr.
DONT KNOW IF IT HELPS YOU<a href="http://s155.photobucket.com/albums/s283/tech_022/?action=view¤t=INTAKEMANI.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s283/tech_022/INTAKEMANI.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
I spoke to a master A tech at my job the other day about the egr situation. And my wideband reads 16afr at idle and when not in boost. He told me that since the egr tube is not hooked up to the exhuast anymore its actually made a vacuum leak since its letting in unmetered air past the maf sensor. Plus whatever air it is letting in is outside fresh air which is more lean then the exhuast gas that it normally sees so thats probably why I see 16afr at idle and when not in boost.
Nope not yet and its been over 250miles since I installed the turbo and afc and had this problem start. Only code I have thrown was po134 for no activity in first o2 sensor and just thrown po140 last night for no activity in rear o2 sensor. I think the rear one is probably just shot since the car has over 88,000 miles on all original sensors. The first one might have to do with my afc but I have the correct wires soldered together. Need to get the voltmeter out and test voltage.
