im heavily modded but was recently without an upgraded intercooler. my boost wouldnt fully boost unless i loaded it...it would spike and settle a lot lower than it was tuned for...it would run slightly rough and feel...just...not right.

i recently ungraded the IC to a pg piping kit and cxracing IC and man oh man...what a difference. it ALWAYS boosts directly to 18-19 psi and never leaves. it boosts to full psi no matter what or how i boost it. and that front mount IC complimented my list of mods sooooo well. no boost spike and it runs so much smoother. my ltft's a perfect, a/f is perfect, no kr....all with the stage 2 tune with a few little personal tweaks. i couldnt be happier. fmic ftw. i cant believe this didnt come stock on the car like the srt.
 
we pretty much have the same mods. except im running a turboxs TBE no cats. what kind of AFR's you seeing? mine seem a bit high 14.4 cruising 5th-6th and its usually around 2500rpms. in between shifts and letting off the throttle and coasting it jumps to 29.3 an goes back to a 14.3 when i get back on the throttle.

i see little knock. if i do its between a 0.3 to sometimes 1.0 which i dont like. on stock map it went to as high as 7.3 before! were running the same AP map though.

whats you're LTFT look like?



i just need to be tuned really bad.

your going to jump to 29.3 because your not adding any fuel. if you stay in gear and let it rev down youll see 29.3.

my ltft's are close to nothing. sometimes depending on throttle position and such it will go up or down but it mainly stays around 0. light throttle maybe -8...i think. idk. i havent checked in a while. i saw it hovered near 0 though so i let it be.

my a/f is good. sometimes on idle it will run really rich for a few seconds and get to about 13 but steadly goes back to 14.7-15. WOT it still runs pig rich, something like 9.8 at times. most of the time it will chill at 11.4 or so...but at a quick shift change it will pul to 9.8 for a second.

aaaaand no knock.
 
goodshit mazdaspeed32007..looks like your car is running pretty good and and yes the upgraded intercooler helps so much... Im sure you making awesome power too..one thing ive noticed with these k04 turbo motors is that there extremly effecient and dont need 18-19 psi to make great power.

my car:

19-20 psi 310 whp *stage 2 ots map*
17 psi 300 whp *tuned*
15 psi 296 whp *tuned*

So maybe you can mess around with your ATR and se if you can get the same power with less boost,prabaly be alot nicer on your engine. Im sure your running pretty healthy as is..and like you said no knock..and thats a good thing for sure!!..and running rich is better than running lean as you well know :) anyways thumbs up man....good work(2thumbs)
 
uea i think im running like 18 psi consistantly. i know anyhting more than that your pushing hot air so i dont see a need to go higher because it cant push anymore air than its designed for.
 
this turbo wont push any higher at redline even if you turn it up, 19psi past 6k is asking for a glowing snail under the hood if you can even get it to hold that consistently.
