I started my MS6 up this morning for the first time in almost two weeks and it shot a good bit of oil out of the the exhaust all over the ground behind the car. I have had light smoking at idle before today, but as of this incidence i am now experiencing very heavy smoking at idle. My car is a 2007 with 12,3xx miles. No modifications have been done to the car from the last time i drove it and the when the oil shot out and heavy smoking began. My mods are listed in my signature. Why did this suddenly begin?

honestly ive noticed that this car acts up ALOT while its cold.. my old car (accord) deffinately acted up in the cold aswell but no where near as bad as this car.. the shifter is slower and harder to move when its cold.. had a really weird engine noise the other day on cold start up at about 1750 RPM but cant duplicate it.. just weird stuff with this car.. but i stil LOVE it.

im assuming the shifting is hard because the gear oil is thicker.
my clutch also got stiff when it was -35C.

Car should always rev higher at a cold start. Especially when it is below freezing. You should wait at least 2 minutes for the oil to become less viscous, on really cold days I wait 5. The engine rpm should tone down to < 900 by that time.

The car will usually shoot a little crap out the back on the first start especially after a few days not of driving... if you have an aftermarket exhaust and or a test pipe this can increase those chances. How much oil are we talking? Like little specks scattered on the driveway (shouldn't be a big deal), or was there a pool? Your car WILL smoke it is a known issue with these cars. There are many forum threads on it. I am at 13,000 miles but I started to smoke way before that. Has not happened since i got my PTP smoking turbo pill. Maybe once if I idle for 10 minutes. Supposedly in March a fix is coming out from Mazda for this. I actually spoke to my service manager today and he confirmed the time frame. Though this is already a delay since October.... so we will see.

Hope that helps.

It is most likely not oil. What I believe you're experiencing is only residue from the inside of the exhaust pipes. As the temperature and dew point drop moisture will develop inside the pipes. When you start the car in this kind of condition condensation will develop as the pipes warm up. Eventually, the moisture is pushed out of the pipes by the exhaust gas, carrying with it residue from the pipe itself.

i was not saying my engine revs up to 1750 RPM.. i was saying i had a really weird engine noise.. like a shrill squeal very high pitched and very loud.. hasnt happened before, or since the incident.. hope its nothing.. tried to rev it back up to duplicate it and nothing happened.
