The most reliable car of the three you mentioned is the RSX.
Definately...great car.

As for winning the lottery thing goin on here, I am one of those people who would feel better making my car fast, not buying one that already is...so no Ferrari for me :)

Thanks for all of the replys. I forgot to mention that the number one reason that I was looking at the wrx was because my girlfriend and I live in north western ohio, and the weather can get really bad up here, and awd would be great for her(this is ...car is for her, I already have an 2003 eclipse to toy with). (she wanted the rsx, msp or wrx)... I also heard that the msp sucks in winter, but im sure a set of tires clears that problem up easily. There are two new msp's left in the midwest(titanium silver), and currently Im trying to purchase one, but the ...dealership wants 21 for it, and im hearing 19-17 new from you all. Hopefully all will go well and we will be around here more often.
Thanks agian guys..

I like my MSP and all and it does handle better than a stock WRX but I would dish out the little higher price for the WRX. The WRX can be improved handling wise by switching out the pathetic stock tires and installing aftermarket suspension equipment. Also the WRX can be made faster more reliably IMHO than a MSP even though there are people on this site going pretty fast. Im not sold on the reliability of the MSP's engine, altho Ive been told Mazda engines are pretty good..(this is my first Mazda).

Oh and the dealerships are trying to **** you by asking for 21K. There is still a 2500 rebate going on and uh its 2004..they should dip into the low $16K region for a 2003 MSP now.

Oh wait..I just noticed you said it was for a female. In that case I would say an RSX because its more comfy and has the Acura badge. The RSX owners I see are like 70% girls and 30% Honda fanboys. Its cool tho there is an interest for a 4 door "souped up" econoboxes like the MSP and WRX.

PS-Hows the Eclipse? They handle like dumptrucks. Why did Mitsu stop making the DSMs?????? :(

Anyways, I'd go with the MSP just because you don't see as many.. and it's also the top model protege. I'd always advise someone to get the best model of any car.. like if someone wanted an eclipse, I'd tell them to get the gsx.. or for a jetta.. get the vr6.. etc. You get the point. A wrx will never be a STi, so don't buy it and be upset that it isn't. My friend regrets so bad buying an oz rally lancer and dumping 50 grand into it when he coulda bought a evo a year later and dumped 35 grand into it.

Mmmmhmmm. When I was shopping I refused anything base model. I don't know why its just the way I look at it. Like I would not get a WRX but I would get an STI, I would not get a focus but I might get an SVT.

I had cheap ass snow tires and steelies on my car and had no problems with snow. I drove on deep snow, little bit of snow, slushy snow, yellow snow, and even some ice racing. LSD helps out in bad weather big time.

Aparently all of the new Rsx's from 2003 on have a huge transmission problem, every person I have talked to has said that second gear has grinding issues and acura is not helping these people out with the problems they have been facing with the car...so the rsx is out, also she needs something a bit bigger than it...so it got cut..
Also alot of the people I have talked to that have wrx's have been having transmission problems also..I figured a few minor things with the msp is alot better than having to get a new tranny.

I love my eclipse, but yes it feels really heavy. After driving my friends gsx around i wasnt happy with the eclipse..but it has been really good to me. As soon as I graduate from school and get a job it will be sold and Im going to get a 300zxTT...I have a 280zx turbo that my father and I have almost finished restoring(and modding), and it is probably the baddest car I have ever driven in my life. As soon as that is finished, the extra engine and turbo we have are going into a 240z..WOOT WOOT!

But yeah, the eclipse feels like a boat, and I dont like the side looks of it, too long..

i even had to use mine as a freakin snow plow one morning....

Yeah the only thing bad about the MSP in the snow was the fact that with grippy snow tires, I had trouble doing e-brake slides in the parking lot. I couldn't spin around more than 180 degrees, where in my old car with all seasons 360's happened with no problems.

lol
