A good day for my MSM.. (downpipe, wideband, & boost toys)

Alright, well I had a full day off from work and no other pending projects, so after a long day in the garage I'm happy to report.

A) The FM downpipe exhaust leak has been repaired. (I had it installed a wekk or so ago, but still couldn't sort out a leak at the back part where it meets the stock mid-pipe) The design of the stock flange is different from the FM peice. The only way to get a decent seal between the two that I found was to use *both* the stock gasket (which sits in a recess in the mid-pipe) and the gasket provided by FM (which surrounds the entire Flange)

B) Since I'm done screwing with the DP for the last time, I took it to my local muffler guy had had the O2 sensor bung welded in for the wideband. I had it placed approx 6" in front of the cat on the top of the downpipe. After some wiring under tha dash and a lot of small finger action, I now can fully monitor what the MSM ECU is doing during all sorts of driving conditions. No big conclusions yet as it's really only seen one trip around the block, but I'm sure I'll have some interesting info to follow.

C) Finally got around to wiring up the backlighting for my autometer boost gauge. I tapped into the wires at the rear of the dimmer switch, but think I grapped the wrong + wire, as mine doesn't dim yet, just stays full "bright"... Still better than nothing in the dark however.

Still to do... I've tapped a power source for the wideband, which I'll also use to run to the Profec E-01. I've run the sensors thru the wirewall, constructed a bracket for the solenoid and everthing else, pretty much all that's left is plugging it in and mounting it. I want to get soem miles in with the wideband installed to get a baseline "feel" to see if it acts any differently.

Ta Da! I feel so productive... Just thought I'd share..

Oh, and more more thing... the AL "racing" jack from Walmart I got for Christmas works great! not bad for $50.....
