A few questions on springs

hey guys, I searched for a few things and read some posts on springs but I really dont even know where to start on this one, i always planned on leaving my suspension alone. . .

Ok so if i want to lower the car a bit and make it sit a little more even (right now it sits lower in the back than in the front, seems common on most MSPs) I would just be replacing the springs right? Ive heard people praise Tein and Eibach but I dont if there are any other popular ones? maybe Goldline or Espilir (spelling?) ? If I got some new springs I would not be installing them myself as im 16 and my mechanical knowledge is pretty limited plus I dont have a spring compressor, a lift, etc. and i cant have the car down and out for too long. About how much would it be to have them put on? This is kinda the most important factor assuming I can get some possibly used springs for not too much money. . .

That is not common for the MSP..Most sit higher in the rear than the front in Stock form...Its always been a complaint among MSP owners.
You must have a bastard child or dont have OEM springs right now?

Tein S-techs and Espilirs are very highly sought after and liked for the MSP and I beleive both will level the car out pretty nicely.
As far as installing yourself....I personally would as you can rent the Spring compressor you need from a local parts store.
If you still want to have them installed...I would say expect between $150-$250 for labor alone. Pricing will also be affected by whether or not the shop is pricing you a four wheel alingment , which you will need after installing the springs.

The Tein Springs are pretty good. I had them on for two years before swapping them out in favour of coil-overs.

It lowers the car by about 1" or a bit more and gives the car a nice and firm ride.

If you book an appointment at any decent shop, it shouldn't take too long to get them installed and do an alignment.

Weird..Mine sat with a slight rake..and about every other one I have ever seen had a rake as well. I can remember all of the complaining back when they came out about the damn factory rake...Hmmm?

lol yea, im with cyclops. thats why (i'd think) so many people complain about the car bottoming out if you have a full load of heavy people in the back seat. Lucky for me i mostly drive solo or one passenger.

I've got a midpipe coming in from SLS performance sometime this week but I dont know how comfortable I feel as far as doing more difficult mods because this is my first car and I'm not super mechanically inclined. My dad on the other hand could definitely do it but he's trying to prove a point (thinks im wasting my money - people in glass houses shouldnt throw stones) so he won't really help me with it. . . for the midpipe at least, i'll ask about springs. Now, a while back, I slid my car a little bit (i was being dumb, dont ask, ive learned from my mistakes) and i basically put it sidewas. it wasnt like anything real drastic and you could get the same effect pulling the e-brake and sliding it (never done it lol, im not THAT dumb) but it slid sideways never the less. ever since then, it could be semi-mental because im very OCD ha, but i think the car leans a tad toward that side and its mostly in the front. As a bonus im hoping new springs would level it out. It is BARELY noticable / you cant even really tell, im just meticulous. If it is in fact leaning from that is that like strut tower related or maybe in the strut itself? I had a mazda dealership check it out when i was in for something else and they said that the strut was NOT bent and it all checked out fine, just you know how dealerships are. . . what do you think?

i dont think doing that should have bent or broke anything but i mean we are on a forum here and im not looking at the car but it shouldnt have bent unless you were sliding and hit somthing that cause the wheel to jolt inward during the slide? but as far as the mid pipe its super easy to install just becareful on the bolts and gl with the springs

yea, it was a pretty empty-ish 2 lane road without any cars on it and i entered the second turn too fast and didnt think to power through it so i oversteered a complete 180. slid into the dirt but i definitely didnt hit anything and it came to a slow stop, i dunno?

I guess when i went to have the springs put on I could say please make sure the strut tower is straight as well or something to that effect. But if i want zero rake effect and a nice even planted look, would the S-techs be no good? what would give me this?

Well my msp also seems to sit lower in the rear. There is alot more whell gap up front than in back.
