99-00 Strut mounts on a 02 P5?

Trying to figure out what has been done with my front suspension. When I bought the car I knew it was modded, but never really looked at the suspension to closely. I now have to replace the endlinks (see http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?123806266-Stock-P5-swaybar-endlength-length)
and see that they might be from a 99-00 MP3 or MSP. So... I am wondering if I have 99-00 or mazdaspeed A-spec stuts in the car?
Will they fit on a 02 P5 ?

A pic of the strut with the wheel off the car is almost a must.. Otherwise we could spend for ever guessing what you have.. Could be someone put the wrong links on. Or you have an aftermarket swaybar etc.. etc... So pics are needed..

All I can see is Monroe on the strut. Edit. Found a part # 71586 on the mount that crosses to a 99 Protege.
Wondering if the spring is aftermarket, and has a different height than stock that needed to be used with the 99 strut ?

Rock auto says that part number is for the 1999-2000 protege only.. The 1999 protege and the protege5 don't share the same part numbers for struts or end links. Maybe the struts are shorter. If that's the case you would just need end links from a 1999.. Edit. Or the correct struts.. lol.

The mp3 is an 01 just an fyi but I thought all the struts were the same for 99-03? The springs look to be racing beat. Either way ditch the monroes they aren't worth a s***

I was thinking the same thing about the struts.. Thats why i looked up the part numbers on rock auto. Sometimes they have the same numbers if they cross over. But they could very well be the same..

The pic with with the link in place it looks like if you put the correct link in place the sway bar will hit the control arm.. As the strut should have full travel with stock spings and the sway bar not hit, the lowering springs just shortens the travel from fully extended.. I dont think the springs are your problem..

Thanks for the input guys
I figure the previous owner cheaped out and put on the 99-2000 Monroe struts, but picked up some racing beat or MSP springs.
I'll have to see if the Monroe's are shot, and if they are, then go to some Tokico HPs, and I can uses the Escape endlinks. (Do like the beefyness of them) Otherwise, looks like I'll just have to use the 99 endlinks with what I have.

If the monroes aren't bad now give them 6 months just get the blues andyou will see a huge improvement in handleing I have monroe in the rear of my car thanks to an idiotic mechanic
