Broke another shift fork last night. Have updated one now, will be installing into the lsd trans and pitting in cat this weekend. Plan is to begin gutting the probe and getting ready for motor swap.will need to buy a stock low mileage motor for the p5 then race gas and turn up the boost to ~30 psi with the holset on the probe
 
that sucks about the shift fork
why cant you just put the engine from the probe into the p5? to high mileage?

Two broken shift forks in less than a month?! How are you shifting? =/

I'm pretty sure my tranny has the non-revised shift fork, you're making me scared.
 
O, I've only broken them when beating the hell out of the car. I was out driving a faster car when it happened. Just be easy when you are shifting from 2 to 3rd and you will be fine. And thats two shift forks in six days :D
 
Humm......... 2nd to 3rd....... I shift hard every gear at 12 psi, guess I am lucky :) But I guess also I sold my LSD to someone.............

Well the lsd trans us what broke first, the last one was an open diff tranyy. What year is your trans. They revised the shift fork in 2003
 
2002 ES trans........ I am awaiting for it to break!! Fully built motor at 8.1 at 12 psi..............

I need a spare tranny to fully build........

Shift fork was replaced and trans was reinstalled. One problem, can't get into reverse now. So I will be driving it with no reverse till I take the motor and trans out to install in the probe
 
Nope, I've been thinking really hard about it all and I think im just going to finish the protege and its going to be a dd with some balls. Opinions?

Humm............. Sounds like mine ;). I say go for it. Make sure you have a good tune for a DD since mine sucks and I get pissed off every day.

Still driving with no reverse. I have a list of parts to install such as a new axle and alt. (Torn boot leading to alt acting up). Once I have everything situated, it will be a weekends worth of installing all turbo parts, fabrication of downpipe and tuning of car.
