95 Protege LX

Ok I am hoping this is the right place to be this time....I have a 95 Protege LX that when driven in town does not overheat but drive 30 or so miles out of town and start to come home temp gauge pegs out and coolant in reservoir is boiling and doesn't cool down until you let the car sit and add more coolant...also have put in a new thermostat that opens up at 195 degrees and am thinking that maybe I was given the wrong thermostat but can't find any information to help clarify this.

If you have to add coolant it is leaking somewhere. Is there white smoke coming out of the exhaust? Check the radiator along the top and bottom where the metal meets with the plastic, they usually leak from here. Also check your radiator cap. If you can't find the problem take it in to a local shop and have them check it for you.
