Batterry is new....
Tires...are OK
Brakes Pads and rotors....changed 8000KM ago.

air intake filter(anything's ok here.. but a K&N drop-in will last the rest of the life of your car for a little extra, the only thing you'd need to do is recharge it)
Oil filter (don't get a fram, get either a purelator, mobile 1 or K&N, they're more expensive, but it's worth it vs taking a chance on a lesser-quality one leaking or washing back the dirty oil into the engine)
defentaly tranny oil if you've got an ATX. I'd check/change that every 50-60K miles if you're hard on it(again, if you have a ATX).
spark plugs (just replace them, get NGK's if you can, avoid bosh)

you can do the other fluid level checks fairly easily while you're under the hood (coolant, brake fulid, Power steering)

nothing above is really winter specific, but most should be replaced at 80,000Km(ie 50K miles)

do oil & oil filter every 3-8K (depending if you just want to change the filter, at the minnimum the filter should be changed every 3-5K, regardless of an oil change)
some people use 5W30 for winter as it's easier on the car to start(I think?).
air filter should be done every 10-12K, depending on if you live in a dusty area (then change it more often)
tranny oil should be checked every 10-15K or so, and replaced (in ideal situations) every 60-75K, again depending on how hard you drive it, easier driving will of course see larger intervules needed between flushes.

spark plugs are pretty constant, do those every 28-30K. Regardless of how hard you drive it or weather conditions.

then you probaly should only ever need to change it mabye 2-3 times in the lifetime of your car, once for the better fluid than the stock, and every 120K km or so. Lots of people do it more often, but they obvisouly drive harder.

What oil you guys use?
I don't specific any brand....but used Agip last time....any good/bad for that brand?

Is Mobil 1 really make a difference and last longer (change at 10k?)

i just use the regular 10w-30 oil, something in the middle price range(castrol i believe)

but Mobil 1 Synthetic I hear very good things of, but you also pay the price.

well, I Like to baby my car, so I use mobile 1 extended (only difference from regular mobile 1 is more cleaning agents) but to be honest, conventional oil, changed regularly will work almost as good unless you plan to run it at some serisously high rpms for extended periods (such as boosting). I've never heard of Agip before so I can't comment on that brand.

since mobile 1 is a synthetic oil, it never degrades like conventional oil, so in theory you could just fill your car up the day you get it with mobile 1 and never have to change oil again. However the reality is far from that. Since even if you change oil filters (which is just as important as changing oil) the oil is still going to get dirty, which is almost as bad as having degraded oil in your engine. If you really wanted, the cleaning agents and synthetic nature of mobile 1 and other synth oils will allow you to keep oil changes to a minnimum, but you'll still need to change the oil filter (since that's the device that filters sediments and debris from the oil) every 3-4K. However, even when chaning the oil filters at regular intervules there's still going to be some debris and loose sediment that only a complete oil change is going to get rid of. So that's why I still do 3-5K oil changes even though I use mobile 1. Avoid high mileage oils.. they're really made for older cars that have sludge and gasket leak problems, and there's no reason to pay that premium for our cars.

Should we use 5- 30 or 10-30 oil??? I always use 5-30
the manual in my 1.8L protege states that you should use 10W-30. Don't quote me, but I think that the MSP's manual also states to use 10W-30(since both engines are particaly the same, I would think both are suited to 10W-30 anyway though). Alot of people that get into some mid-high boost ranges use 5W-30 anyway because of it's thinner properties, and better cold-starts

I use Castrol 5 w30 at all times since it was new. Never had an issue. And I change the oil between 2,000 and 3,000 miles without fail. I have a intake and just need to recharge it every few months. I recently flushed the cooling system and changed the tranny fluid. For the tranny fluid I used Redline 90w and it shifts perfect everytime. My car has 47k miles and still going strong. I will need tires soon and most likely get them before the dead of winter.

At around 50-60k I will do the timing belt and all associated parts.
