8.5 PSI vs. 12PSI

Such a difference :(

8.5 basically feels stock, 12 PSI feels like the difference between a N/A 300ZX or Supra vs their twin-turbo counter-parts.

It's 70 degrees today though, but I'm just going to leave it this way.

I totally agree. When I was playing with the MBC when I first got it, I accidentally had it around 12PSI. Talk about MAJOR power. THen, when getting it down to around 8PSI or so, does "feel" so "errr, not so great over stock".

do you guys have bad boost spike? what do you spike at? right now i spike at 12psi and quickly drop to 8.5-9psi. i would love to turn it up to 12 but im afraid of the spike too high

When I used my MBC (short period of time) I'd spike about 1/2 a pound before hitting max.

When I spoke of 12 PSI in this post that was a spike of 12 and then a settle to about 11-11.5, still fast as balls.

ok guys i have a question...what RPM does your boost hit when it does? and does your boost drop...when i turned my boost to 10 PSI i see the boost drop to 8 then settles in...and i dont feel it kick in until 35 to 4k but by that time the boost is about to hit the limiter...whats goin on?

12 psi without a FMIC is dangerous as we have seen. I know there is 1 guy in DFW claiming to run 12 psi daily, but he's probably the exception to the rule. People, it is very important to cool the intake charge!!

t3ase runs 12 PSI daily with nlike 30k miles with the FCD and FPR, he also drives like a mad man daily.

In fact there are a handful of people on this board running 12 without a FMIC.

In fact the cooler air from the FMIC is probably more dangerous then hotter unFMIC'd air.

What is true, is that 10 PSI from a FMIC equipped car probably performs like 12 PSI from a unFMIC'd car.

Not only that, but I'm not touching boost until I have full engine management and fuel management. And some forged internals for peace of mind.

Yeah I know you stock'd it out because of crappy fuel in the mountains, but before you were running that high.

When do you plan on putting all the stuff back in.

Didn't you have the FCD installed before your trip?

Never ever, ever had a the FCD. Cut's there for a reason I've decided and until I get something to control fuel, I'm leaving the cut as is.

However, seeing as how my car's always been stock, *AHEM*, then I don't hit cut much anyway.

One time my car felt insanely fast...I glanced at the boost gauge and it was at around 11.5psi and I had just hit fuel cut. Turned out the crap brittle vacuum hose running to the wastegate actuator had cracked. I replaced the hose (and other hoses as well) to prevent this from happening again.

2nd gear was crazy fast though...I wish I could feel that again, but not until my warranty's gone:(
