6th gear power surging.

Help me out here guys. I was on the highway today cruising around 75, and when I would floor it, I got this on-off-on-off..... surging. I have never heard or felt this before. My mods are MS CAI, Turbosmart Dual Port BOV, MS CBE. Any idea on what was going on?

really? this is the first time i have noticed it. when i first got on the highway it would stutter when i floored it, but that went away. i wonder what could be causing this?

if you are running 75 in 6th and you floor it you are trying to overwork the engine. Shift in to 5 next time and the problem will go away. Think about an automatic tranny. When you are rolling down the freeway and floor it, what does the tranny do?? it down shifts. you need to do the same

helllo!!!! dude ther are reads all over this forum you are boost spikeing do you have a cold air intake or exhuast mod it will cause this and its not good, your boost is spike up to 20 psi cuase its not tuned for the mazdaspeed cia, could hurt the engine

mazda tech im pissed about the boost spike issue its obvios in 3 thru 6th the power feels nervous and unsafe!!! the car will pull foward and jump back its sooooooo unnatural feeeling, everyone with the mazdaspeed intake has this problem, boost spikes to 20 psi the computers not rerady for it, its jsut hot air it could blow the enigine, and its bull s*** that mazda wont give an ecu mod to match there intake!!!

do you even have a speed 3 the behavoir is horrible with this prob, if you floor it in 456 gears it stumbles or has this "ok i'll go but it hits your foot affect stumble its reallllly bad for the motor its not natural or ok you dumbas!!!

you must not drive your car then... get a boost guage and it wil alarm you to what is happening, try flooring it in 456 gears at low low speeds , you dont understand tuning with a turbo engine this "spike" the way the engine acts is after it has already happend, it destroys the engine, and if mazda would just tell the ecu that it has a cia it would noit happen , so thats why i caled you a dumbass

i drive the s*** out of the car. auto-x, pds and and speedventures track days. I am not denying the fact that they may be over boosting. I have floored it in all gears many many times. My initial point was why are you driving 75 and flooring it? shift!!! there are 5 forward gears before 6th. The reason I got the MS CAI i was for this exact reason. If the thing blows due to over boosting, i have a warranty that covers it. And no I am not going to put a boost gauge on mine. Unfortunately I have a dealer that is not very friendly to mods and they will void the warranty if there is a boost gauge installed. I know I know, they have to prove thats what caused the problem, but I don't have time to sit there and argue for days, weeks or months over it.

another problem that this can be caused by is a wastegate problem. check the wastegate just to be safe
