Mazda 626, 1998
My 1998 idles like crap. Up, down, all over the place. I have:
Changed all Filters
Changed Map Sensor
Changed IAC Valve
Changed plugs and wires
I have sprayed Carb Cleaner near the red circle in the picture and it affects the idle. I'm thinking that my problem lies in that area. Maybe a leaky injector, manifold gasket or some kind of vaccuum leak.
In the second picture is a orange and yellow ????? something. It is located in the "red circle" in picture #1 near the problem area. What are they? Is there supposed to be vac hoses hooked up to each?? Only one has a hose at this time.
Any ideas?????

FIxed at Last!

I'm posting this for others to learn from my mistakes!
My problem was indeed an intake manifold gasket. $4.86 and the 626 runs like new. No more idle problems. If you have an idle problem, sray carb cleaner around the intake manifold where it bolts up to the head while the engine is running. If the idle changes, change the gasket. End if story!
