6.5" speaker grill

6.5" speakers often come with grills, when I install the speakers, do I have to take the grill off? or I can leave the grill on the speakers?
If I can't leave the grills on, then what are they for? why they come with 6.5" speakers?

Yes they come with grilles.
Sometimes you can leave them on if you REALLY want, (but there's nopoint as they'll be behind doorpanels, and it's arguabley worse for sound)
Prettymuch the grilles are because not every car is the same. some have exposed speakers, and some will have kickpanels made for them, etc..

do you know what's the difference between Infinity reference 6802 and 6812? they all have the same dB and also handle 180w, but the price is different, why? which one is newer? thanks

try to divorce yourself from the need to use numbers to judge speakers.

Basicalyl the 6812 is a refreshed version. THe 12 does seem to be a bit brighter than the 6802 (something most like, but I don't really)
