THE AD
Your offer, from the prospective of a guy like me, is plain and simple a
cr@ppy business deal. Heres why. Cutting through all the B.S., what you
suggest is a simple trade: you bring your looks to the party and I bring
my money.

His analysis is incomplete.
Assuming she hasn't been surgically modified to be that beautiful she brings both her looks and her genes into the relationship. So if the guy cares at all about how his offspring look, he might want to marry her so that he can have better looking children. The things we normally consider as "beautiful" are usually physical features which are visual indicators of "healthy". Nice hair, symmetric features, that sort of thing. It's the same reason women marry reliable but not necessarily great looking men, and then have affairs (and children) with better looking guys. The cheating strategy worked a lot better before paternity tests but it's going to take a few millenia for human behavior to catch up with that technology. A rich guy might want to do a Trump and marry a very attractive woman in order (consciously or not) to have prettier (and so, subconsciously, healthier) children. Of course, he might not necessarily want to stay married to her once the children were grown...
Anyway, the woman's real problem is most likely that she's just unpleasant to be around. Perhaps "articulate" actually means "never shuts up", and "classy" means "likes to spend your money". Or maybe she's an idiot, which would explain why she posted that silly ad in the first place. What guy who earns $500k a year wants to marry an idiot? Screw one maybe, but marry one, no.
