i would say that before you even up the boost even more you work on getting some internals to fortify the block. but thats just me. or you could get a bigger turbo with that kind of money, or so i have read. i personally would start nick picking at all the small engine stuff like you have been doing to slowly build power and up perfoamance.

downpipe and an exhaust. I would do a custo exhaust though as it will be cheaper, I had a 3" mandrel bent cat back for about $300.00 w/ a muffler. Good upgrade now just waiting on cs for the downpipe. G/L

Agree, get a downpipe and exhaust.

save your money so when you blow your engine you haev something to fall back on.

exhaust, esp. at 10psi. i'll be much easier on the turbo for performance and longevity. or use it for motor mounts and a stronger clutch, and it'll make for some fun launches at the drag strip.

Not everyone blows their engine... and why would I blow it with what Im doing anyways???

people can blow their engine at stock boost, and 10 psi is really the limit of what people consider safe, whatever that means. if spending your $500 is going to put your bank account to $0, i would save it. otherwise, now that i think about it more, an exhaust would be the best bet at your stage to help keep your engine from blowing. also look into the afc from DSMConvert.

I rarely run 10psi on the car. The DSMBC lets me run 6 all the time then switch to 10 when I feel like it. And what is the AFC from DSM? I know that its the air fuel controller, but what will it do, how much is it, where can I pick one up?

I understand, but you don't need to turn up the boost for very long to blow your engine. If it was me, I would do that last, after an exhaust and some engine management. Just my advice. actually, Mental Addiction is right, you should really look into some engine management. He/they is/are AV of the year, and will be willing to help. Also DSMConvert seems to be a good guy with some good products. He offers the airflow logistics afc.

this thread is a great starting point. do lots of searches, there is tons of info about each of them. As far as getting an exhast or engine management first, I would lean toward the exhaust, keep the boost at stock, and then get the engine management as the 2nd to last mod, with 10psi being the last mod. Just my advice.

how about brake pads? rotors? clunk fix? new tires? those are also decent I would say. probably leave you with about half of your budget to spend on exhaust or something else
