50 hp dry shot

guys settle down hey...and lets see if this actually comes to anything. if it does it'll be a great little insight - and might be one of the first MSP motors pulled down because i'm leaning towards the "it will blow up" side of things at the moment (i know the motor is reasonably tough but NOS is a whole other kettle of fish)...

That said, i hope you don't blow it.... i hope it works out great and i hope you don't have any ecu related issues.

There are ways dealers can tell if you've been naughty though... certain "flags" the ecu puts up when things are WAY out of spec... if it sees intake temps that are insanely low, coupled with fuel burn thats WAY out of spec, coupled with scored pistons, engine overspeed warnings and other such things - he may reasonably conclude that something fishy was going on. Further investigation and he'll find the blocked up ports for your NOS fogger....and then he may even be able to find the bolt holes in your floor where you mounted the bottle.....

At that point, he wouldn't need to prove you actually DID run nos...your warrenty would be void.......he could do it without even looking on the forums...

that said, i really really really hope this works out for you... will make one hell of a rocket if it gets done.....

keep the agro to a minimum..theres no need to b!tch and whinge at people who are just eager to help.

as i said before if i remove the system, CSI wouldn't find traces. if i tap something for the fogger i will replace the item. as far as the bottle being bolted to the floor pan, i've got that cover too. really folks, stop with the warranty stuff. like i said before, if i have to rebuild the motor because of a mistake i made. i can afford to do it. i actually would love to get into the bottom end of this thing and see if it can be improved. i think and others have agreed (and disagreed) that 50 hp if done right, is not that much juice for this motor. but we'll see. the nos kit is in route and so is the exhaust and cai by mazda. thanks for the support. we'll see what happens.

Dude I wasn't having a crack at you - i was simply saying that there are ways and means that they can screw you.. I hope this works for you, really I do....but ecu's log, flag and keep track of information for stuff thats outside of what sensors think should be happening. Some flags on some ecu's are non-removable (the aust FSDE ecu has a electronically programmable, NON reprogrammable memory space for flags such as engine overspeed warning....once you get the flag, you can't remove the flag - not even the dealer can).

All i'm saying is don't be surprised if they get you for running NOS. I'm not for a second saying don't do it, or its a bad idea, you seem to have it covered off well, going wet instead of dry and doing a really super clean installation. BUT dealers are craftier than alot of people give them credit for.

Good luck with it, please provide pics of the install and dyno graphs once you get it all together.
