Just got a call from the wife... some old lady at WalMart hit her in the parking lot, AFTER she had backed out.
She said she backed out. Stopped. Had just put it in Drive and felt a little nudge.
Then some old lady got out of her Odyssey yelling at my wife that SHE hit HER. Ooookay. I guess she continued to be a B**** and threw her insurance card at my wife and complained the whole time.
Ugh. There go the premiums.
I'll get some snazzy pics when I get home. Apparntly the damage is "just a dent" under the tail light in the corner.
We'll see how bad it is, maybe I can get out dent repair guy to knock it out.

Got the whole story. After the wife backed out and stopped and was ready to pull forward, the ol' lady decided she could rocket past between the 5 (now mostly in the aisle on the left) and the other parked cars on the right with her '05 Odyssey, and uh, didn't quite make it. PLUS, she didn't stop until she reached the END of the aisle. My wife thought she was gonna keep on truckin', right out of the parking lot.

Did more than a dent, however. It's the size of a tennis ball and in the worst spot, right on the edge. Broke the bumper bracket and left a nasty scuff on the bumper. The paint is cracked both on the body and the bumper, and even though it's hard to tell with all the salt, the scuff on the bumper is pretty deep. Goin' in for an estimate Monday.

similar thing happened to my wife when she had her Rav4.... the blame was argued amongst the insurance companys and by the angle of damage my wife was 70% at fault... which I think they partly went off damage too, the spare tire of her Rav hit the rear fender of the other car.... guess who's gonna win.... sorry to see it regardless bud.

Thats how we got our 5, our 03' Maxima was totaled by my wife, luckly she was okay, as was our son. I'm sorry but its gonna be hard to find a good place that will make it look new again. I hope it works out, heres some pics of our Max.

That rear 5 damage looks to be about 3200 canadian if you need to replace bumper cover.....

Hey don't worry if you have a good insurance. I smashed my 5 when it had.... yikes 4500km. All of the front was damaged. I hit an ol' lady (damn those should not drive!) that passed quick on a red light. Never saw her coming and hit her. A chance I did because if I had been a little quicker on the green the she would have hit me in the door probably @ 60 km/h. Ouch. I hit her at about 15km/h. I had like 6000$cdn damage on it. And now it looks just like new. No side effects in handling, power. As long as the engine is intact and the frame didn't twist, then can make it look new.

Just don't take a chance though. Have a mazda dealer do your repairs, especially if you're insured.
