4WD light over 70mph

HI everyone.

I notice that every time my car pass 70mph the 4wd light turn intermittent until i get down to 60. Actually I replace the rear axle of the driver side but there is a small leak due to a broken seal. I order the seal in USA because the service in Puerto Rico is extremely bad and Im supposed to install it this weekend. I check the rear diff. oil level every 4-5 days and fill it when is needed. Did someone else have this problem?

Check the tone ring on the New axle fro damage( broken teeth or a cracked ring. Also check the sensor in the hub itself for dirt. Its magnetic so it can attratct dirt and that can affect the voltage outputs. Also tires can play a big role in AWD and ABS functions. Are all 4 of your tires the same size ? width and aspect ratio ? And are they within 3% treadwear of each other ? putting one new tire on a car with AWD with 3 worn tires will wreak havoc on ABS and Traction sensors.

I got to change the ring and the sensor this week, about the tires they are all the same. I will let you know and thanks a lot.

I thought i'd just ask the question in here rather than start a new thread cause it looks like littleredwagon answered my question but just want to confirm. I just got a flat and had to put on the spare. The 4wd light kicked on...this could be from the spare throwing the sensors off possibly?

yes.. try not to drive too much with a spare on as your diff won't like that.
If you can patch the tire - that's the best way to go. Otherwise it's recommended to change all 4 (or at least a pair, if you are on a really tight budget).
