been a while since i have posted. But...
After a few weeks of the car being down because of a blown up motor. I got all the parts and the block back from the shop and I got it back togeater and on Thursday the motor was in the race car and it started right up with no smoke or leaks. So that meant it was dyno time for the car the next day to brake it in. So we made a few 4k pulls to get small things worked out. on the first pull making 10psi at 4k it made 280hp. so we did some tuning and easily hit 300hp at the same boost level. it was time to start upping the boost and making full 7k pulls. so we started at 12psi and made 350hp. While still running rich. more tuning we were soon up to 25psi and 415hp. still way rich, more tune and 27psi we pulled 453hp and that was as much as the fuel pump could do. so thats a little over 500hp at the flywheel. I wanted to run it to 30psi but it was just not having it. and I also need to get a new ignition system. I guess miata coils just dont work at 27+psi. So once I get that worked out will go back to the dyno and see what it will do. the turbo will do 35psi no problem. so I dont see 550hp being a issue at all. Also with derrick at CorkSport being the BP tuning master that will be easy to do.
This is a somewhat built GTR motor in a 03 protege for the people that dont know.
