Hey Jen, it's mazda.doll of the other forums, post this in the TN section of this forum, I'll try to get the TN group I usually meet up with to come up.
You might want to tell them its a 3.5 hour drive from Murfreesboro, and 4 from Knoxville.

Still making final preps... we need a back up plan in case of OVERCROWDED AND INSANE TRAFFIC occurs...suggestions will be greatly appriciated..

I will have to be tentative at this point. My daughter's birthday is that weekend. Not sure if the wife wants to have the party on Sat. or Sun. yet.

Unfortunately, I'll have my hybrid RX-7 at Somernites cruise. In fact, I'll also have our Mustang there, if it doesn't sell. Based on what I saw from last year, my cars may be a little out of place. I saw no Miata or RX types in the photos I viewed.

Last year our club was mostly a Mazda 3 Club and since then it has expanded. There was so much interest from other Mazda's that we decided to include ALL Mazda's. We just want to have fun and hopefully everyone else will to :)

Sounds like a good deal. Sometimes, we have to branch out to get enough interest. My son is involved with the Mustang Mafia out of Somerset. He's starting a new chapter in the Harrodsburg/Danville area and needs to build his numbers. He's trying to recruit his dad; but, I'm trying to sell our Mustang and go all Mazda. The Mustang Mafia Prez did say it would be OK for me to bring my Hybrid-7 to the meets, though. What the heck. I can't seem to sell the Mustang; so, we may as well bring both. I may not make the Louisville event; but, I may be at others. I'm still thinking about the Rough River event. At my age, one can't plan too far ahead.

Go ahead and put me down. I might drag along a buddy with a 2000 Subie if nobody objects, he just got it and im tryin to
get him better at a manual tranny before AutoX so he can run with me. I figure the run through Oldham should help.

Put me down as probable. It will be cool to take my blond-haired, blue-eyed sons (who are also 1/8 Native American in spite of their appearance) to the pow wow since their 1/2 Native grandpa (maternal) seems to want them to believe he came over on the Mayflower. It will be their first real exposure to that part of their heritage.

The weather forecast is calling for rain the whole weekend of this meet. On the day of the meet, the forecast is calling for heavy THUNDER. We are cancelling this meet until further notice - sorry for any inconvenience.

I've looked at the weather and it doesn't look too bad: AM showers on Saturday. I understand people not wanting to drive several hours to get rained on, but does anyone local still want to meet up if the weather permits?

I agree I am not afraid of a little rain. I moved my work schedule around for it. Now we are letting a little rain get in the way? I just read the forecast the calls for rain early till about noon then nice and beautiful for the rest of sat into sun evening when I will rain again. So I say we reinstate this meet, but then I am not actually a member of OAC :)

Sorry everyone for the cancellation. It's kinda odd that so many people are posting now that it is cancelled lol The OAC has a 6 hour drive from OH and since rain was in the forecast, we decided to make the call figuring we hadn't spiked the interest of many people even without the rain. This meet will happen again! Lasy year's meet was too much fun not to have another :)

And, we want to see those nerf guns in action lol

Sitter fell thru. I can't make it today but we will need to plan another meet very soon.

We definitely need to go about organizing ourselves a bit more locally. If, as jess0473 says, the OAC is coming from 6 hours away, why are they the ones planning this meet (no offense intended in the slightest---just a poor reflection of our own local interest)? What I'm saying is, it would be great to have the OAC roadtrip down here for a meet WE organized, because the weather we are getting right now is exactly what was forecast on Thursday(actually rain moved out sooner than projected). If we had organized this locally, this meet still would have gone off as planned---maybe without some of the further-flung out-of-staters, but at least with some locals and those within, say, a two-hour radius (Indy, Cincy, most of KY).
