3" SS S-pipe Replacement!!!

They also said that if someone has the part off the car, they will pay to have it FedEx'd to them.

I have the stock s-pipe but I am sitting here looking at ssautochromes.com sr20det down pipe an the workmanship is nothin to rave about. It is not very well made. I was going to try and fit the sr20det dp on my msp because I like the way it goes straight down and with a little modification it will fit but I am still debation on wether or not I gonna do that. I think instead I will be using atpturbo.com's 3" v-band down pipe adapter.

What's bad about it??

First it is advertised as a three inch dp but if you measure the bottom outlet it is less than 2.5 inches and the inside has huge welds poking through which can't be good for airflow. The flange is not very nice and has burrs everywhere and the holes on the flange which connect it to the turbo are more of an oval shape than a circle which might make it hard to fit on to the turbo. But most of all is just the quality of the welds and the way the turbine discharge and wastegate discharge holes are very rough around the openings and have little nooks around the holes. But if you want to send off an s-pipe to them by all means do so maybe they can do better.

You get what you pay for.... They make headers for the 2nd generation Miata that 'almost' fit it... ;) I have not experienced it first hand but I have read many accounts about ssautochrome.... Apparently, they are pretty slack both in quality and customer service in the Mazda community. Do some searching on miataforum.com. Buyer beware.

BTW, I followed up on my own advice and did a search on ssautochrome on miataforum... they seem to have corrected their fitment issues... however, they sure pissed off a lot of people before they fixed them. People's comments are somewhat positive but the manifold is now affectionately called the 'ghetto turbo' ....
(BTW, I certainly don't work for any turbo making places. If I did, I'd just make it and sell it with no games.... because it would kick ass. ;) )

I looked through all the posts on the Miata website and I only saw a couple of people out of all the posts write something that wasn't positive. Even those weren't serious problems. For $100, I'll take the chance.

Ha! Wouldn't we all. I just wish I new how to weld and had all the equipment. I'd be in the shop 24/7 fitting the whole forum with parts for cheap.

i'm gonna send them an email it sucks cause i only have access to computers this late at night at work accept on the weekend. I'll be in Las Vegas for 2 weeks so i'm going to see when they want to do it and ask my parents if they'll drive my car out there for me, while i'm gone.

i emailed him. I'll send an update when i find out the details and if i can definately do it or not. this is my only car but like i said i'll be out of town for a few weeks or maybe i can use my parents tribute or something.

I left for vegas and the guy never emailed me back so i have no idea if he's emailed me or not. I can't access my USMC account until i get back for security reasons. But i'll let you guys know when i get back if he even responded.
