205 on stock wheels? (P5 w/ Eibach drop)

Hey all.. it's time to get two new tires for the front of lucky my P5..

Well, I got a pair of Dunlops about 8 months ago on the rear and well.. they suck. The road noise is my #1 complaint..

I'd really like to get Yoko AVS ES100's but they don't come in the 195/50-16 that teh stock ones do. I'd like to move up to 205/50-16 but I don't know if they'll rub up front or no?

yes, I know it'sa little taller, yes I know I'll go a little slower, and my speedo will be a little off, and I may get a littel better mileage... For now I will run split f/r sizes, and yes, I know that isn't ideal either, but it'll change soon enough..

thanks!

i just got these. They're a little rough but handle ten times better than stock. I love em and yes they fit fine on stock wheels. No rubbing with my drop.

ok... you're missing the point...

I already have the Eibachs... I just wanna know if I can run the 205s up front with 'em

Hey guys, I have the Racing Hart MP3 rims on my car (17"x7") and the Stock Falken's that it came with are 205/45/17. I want to eventually get the Parada Spec-2's in a wider size. Should I go:

215/45/17
215/40/17
225/45/17 or
225/40/17

Or should I just wait and get my 18x7.5 Rota Subzeros?

Thanks in advance.
Daniel

I've got a set of 16x7" 45mm offset Rota Slipstreams shod with 205/50/16 AVS ES100's and they fit fine (Prokit too.)

215/40/17 is the closest match (tire diameter) to the OE 195/50/16's. That's what I'm running on my 17x7's.

Thanks Jim for the info. I am still not sure if I am going to go 18's or not. I really want a light rim with a good design, fairly inexpensive, and a lip (oh crome too maybe). Any suggestions guys?

crazy_d: You can stick with 205/45/17. And it should have come with Dunlops not Falkens (unless the original owner burned through the original SP9000's and went for same-sized Falkens).

215/40 fits much better on a 7.5" wide rim.

215/40's fit fine on a 7" wide wheel, trust me. They're the best match in overall diameter to the OE 195/50/16's. But, whatever floats your boat.....

I know it fits .. in fact I have it now. (215/40 on 7" rim) Just looks like it would sit nicer on 7.5" wide since there is so little sidewall.

Yeah, went to the dealer today for the rust proofing inspection and found out that they now sell Bridgestone Potenza RE92 and 910 (I think those are right) for our P5's with the size of 205/45R16. They had it on a showroom P5. They go for approx. 210.86 CDN.

hate to be an ass but what you guys are saying is that 215s won't scrape the fenders even if i go from lock to lock on my steering wheel? just want to make sure since i'm planning on getting larger mags and go for a wider track a well.
