2021 CX-5 GT | SiriusXM Traffic Plus issue

Hello,

I did see some threads about the issue, but couldn't find a solution to the issue I am having.

A few weeks ago I purchased a 2021 Mazda CX5 Grand Touring (built 10/21) and it came with a free trail of SiriusXM along with the Traffic Link / Plus. The car did not come with a NAV SD card, so I purchased one online and the NAV worked as intended. The nav did display traffic info along with all the other Sirius features for a few days until it simply decided not to work. Before it stopped working, everything showed as "Subscribed". Once it stopped, everything showed "Not Subscribed".

I called SiriusXM and explained what happened and they said that my vehicle is apparently NOT equipped with the features to have Traffic Link / Plus. I advised them that it was working, and with the help from the forums, told them to simply "override" it. Upon overriding the system, the vehicle showed some features as "Subscribed" except Traffic Plus and Parking Information. We tried to resend the signal, re-do the subscription and reset the radio to no help.

Has anyone had the same issue? Sirius advised me to ask the dealer... I have booked a service visit at the dealer since its still covered by warranty, but maybe there is a solution that can be done before its visit.

Since it did work previously, I am curious to know what happened. Could it be as simple as a software update? The software is version 11022 in North America.

Sirius 1st level support is clueless or pretending to be clueless.
You need a manager or higher level to enable it. But its almost mission impossible.
Dealer cant help you most likely. Nothing wrong with the car.

For whatever stupid reason in their base systems the CX5 does not show traffic capability but the car does have it. If you do buy the package they will enable it but again it needs manager to click where they need to click.

Btw their trafiic is mostly useless. I wouldnt bother.

Agreed. No idea why it doesn't show capability!

I'll try one more time with Sirius, just to see how it works on the free trial.
Will just stick to Carplay for reliable traffic info.

btw they do enable it for free almost every holiday period. If you notice it working just fyi
then disable it after the holidays.
