Looks fantastic! What are your thoughts on larger brake setups? I think it would really complement the look you're going for...Once again though, I really like what you've done here, came out great!

Thanks so much! I agree the new wheels really expose and highlight the brakes, however the stock brakes are smooth, quiet and function perfectly for the diving I do. If anything I might paint the calipers black just to blend them in a bit better.

I also own a GTI that is my sporty/tuner car that I occasionally drive “spiritedly” so I feel no need to drive the CX-9 hard (especially when the kids are inside) and thus no need to upgrade the brakes. A big brake kit would look killer no doubt, just not worth it for me.

@Hyperlite, how much poke are you getting from the +20? Is it still fitting within the fenders?

I would say the fronts are near perfectly flush and the rears are just a touch inside the fender. I believe another member measured the fenders to be 30mm out from the stock tire on the front, and 35mm in the rear here.

I might add a 5mm spacer to the rear to make everything perfectly flush, but the guy at the wheel shop said that 5mm is barely noticeable to the eye.

Interesting. I've been looking at a set of wheels that are 21", and if I chose a +25 offset, I could get them hub centric. Going by your stats, +25 should have be inside the front fenders then? I just don't want to catch them I run into weird roads.

Depends on the width as well, but assuming it was a 9” wide wheel you should have no rubbing issues with +25.

I guess the question for me is: have you seen/felt any rubbing from the tyres on the outside fenders (rather than the inside) with +20? Or do they wheel and tyre still "go inside", so the speak when the angle is sharp?

No rubbing anywhere with my setup. That’s just on normal roads though. Haven’t done any off-road driving with it...
