2017 Mazda6 - Driver Seat grinding noise and possible solution

Did anyone experience any bad grinding noise when moving the seat back and forth (it doesn't make the same noise up and down).

My dealer quoted me close to $2000 for a full seat base replacement.

Upon looking over the net, it seems that the grinding come from a poor quality cable that runs side to side between the seat motors.
I managed to buy the cable, which looks like this, however I didn't install it.

Did anybody installed something like this. How hard is it ? Can you just lift the front end of the base seat and replace the cable without taking the seat ?
Do you need anything else other than this ?

Saw some clips on the internet, however none of them are more specific to this generation of six.

One more thing, this piece of cable seems to be shared between several Mazda models and it seems to fail quite often. I've read that there is even a TSB about this issue.

That's why they call them stealerships.

My 2017 drivers side heated seat bottom cushion crapped out last year (back rest still works.)
They want over $1,000 to replace the heating element. Not happening.
