2016 cx5 sport for wife

Hello,

Wife just got a 16 sport. It has 32k km and in excellent condition. I'm trying to educate myself on what to look for on preventative maintenance besides basic maintenance. Also would like to know what could be upgraded for a better experience. New lights, stereo, stuff that has been generally accepted by owners of the vehicle. Any help or input is welcome.

Cheers

Welcome.

Check out what version of the software your radio is. You might be able to hack it. https://mazdatweaks.com/
Get your interior LED's here:
I recommend getting a set that are the WARM light.

No special maintenance needed on this car. They are proving to be pretty reliable.

I'm certain I can update the firmware for the radio. I'm not exactly sure on how to do it. Is there a video you can link?

That's not a firmware update. It's honestly a hack, but don't be put off by the term. You need to be on an older FW for it to work. Find your version in the software settings.

Yeah the unit is hackable as it's running os 55 something. So.. it just adds Android auto and let's you scroll from left to right type of thing? The unit says it doesn't have GPS? What does it take to add it?

That's not true. You can run the hack on the latest firmwares, you just have to run through some more complex hoops to re-enable the bootloader. Agreed that's not for everyone, but it's not to say that it's not possible.

90% of people are not going to remove the radio, attach cables to the radio, and do all that crap to do this hack. Come on Baron... And if they want to that info is also linked to the link I posted.

What does it take to add it to .55? A USB drive and about 30 minutes. :D
It can do much more then that, my friend. And you don't need GPS to use AA...it runs off your phone.
