2016 CX-5 Spotted with a Facelift

My father in law has one(a couple of years old 2007 I believe) in Romania and it's a diesel.

Honda just updated the 2015 CR-V with some serious equipment and swapped the powertrain for the one in the Accord (2.4L ED w/CVT, 185hp, 181tq) and more importantly, 27/34/29 in regards to MPG's.

Mazda better upgrade the powertrain a bit for 2016 or else Mazda will be #4 in FE instead of #1 when it debuted.

Who wants CVT? It sounds weird having an engine that doesn't change gears. And their equipment list isn't that great.

I think the CR-V was greatly improved for 2015.
I heard good things about the CVT in the Civic, Accord and would definitely judge by a test drive. I can't say I am 100% satisfied with the programming of the 6AT transmission of my CX-5, it does sometime refuses to down-shift despite < 1500 RPM and needs some encouragement to do so.
The front of the CR-V is greatly improved whereas the back is only slightly improved. However, 33/26 for AWD could be better than my CX-5 AWD.
I am sure that driving dynamics in the CX-5 are much better, but the CR-V is (probably) not far behind. The volume middle EX trim is equipped nicely with moon roof.
While the previous gen was pretty ugly, just missed the newer direct-injected engine, the new one is definitely better.

Not feeling the love..

I notice the article in the OP also says the 2016 CX-5 will have more comfortable suspension. Is that worth waiting for? Will more comfortable suspension take away from the handling?

I hope not. You want it, to be better than ours? Who drives these, it's perfectly fine as it is.

If it really is 15' then it is 1.5" longer than earlier models ;-)

Seriously though, I wonder if they fixed the numb driving experience.

I agree it does not handle as well as the CX-5. However, C&D had it 2nd in a comparo test, ahead of the Escape but 2nd to the CX-5.
I would not discount it so easily, especially if you care about fuel economy, where the '15 could shine, in addition to better utility and better ride.

I believe that "more comfortable suspension" was introduced with the current 2015 update.

IMHO it is not worth waiting for this feature.
It is true that on some roads I had my son complain about shaking movement when he was trying to read in the back seat. This was a paved freeway, BTW. The current suspension is tuned more toward sport then comfort, but I don't regard it as harsh or jarring at all. Normal driving is pretty pleasant in the CX-5.
I do think that more comfortable tuning will come at the expense of handling.

The new CX5 will change the front and the light will introduce the leds. Inside the GPS will be the same as Mazda3 but with same situation as now, not as Mazda 3 situation. The last change is the orange light of the clock that will be in white. These ate the main changes explained in the dealers here in Europe. We will see....

Would be nice if it's possible to upgrade current head units to the new style. Even nicer if they offer a good discount on it for all the trouble.

I personally, prefer a Kenwood unit, than something sticking out of my dash and it's not upgradable at all, if you don't like it.
