2016 CX-5 Rear upper shock mount broke

I have a 2016 cx5 with 260,000 kilometers. What a great car!

My rear upper shock mount broke. I purchased an aftermarket shock and an upper mount from Mazda. The shock was seized on the lower mount. After a fight I heated it thus destroying the rubber bushing. The shock came off leaving the lower stud with an about 3/4" metal bushing on the stud. It's too large to fit into my lower shock. Do I have the wrong shocks, does the bushing come off the stud? I tried removing the bushing from the stud without luck. I welcome any advice.

Thank You

The metal bushing should be off from the stud. BTW there’re many different versions of rear shocks from Mazda for gen-1 CX-5. You could get wrong rear shocks. And I really doubt you can get a correct aftermarket rear shock top mount as Mazda doesn’t sell it separately (comes with the OEM rear shock) for gen-1 CX-5.
