2016 CX-5 Airbag light blinking

I've got a 2016 Mazda CX-5 airbag light that blinks 1 time, pauses, then blinks 8 times.

Was hoping to get some insight on that and possible solutions?

Is there an amber air bag inop light on the passenger side dashboard when nobody is sitting in the passenger seat?

No there is no inop light on the passenger side dashboard.
