2015 vs 2014 and other reliability questions

aside from the shaking and electrical issues, are there any other issues I should be aware of?
btw, looks like the going rate for a FWD touring with no option is $24K?

I have a 2014.5 Touring and its hard to notice mirror shake. Biggest issue is the infotainment system and sound quality. The infotainment has issues with USB, and bluetooth, but CD and radio are good. I would recommend getting the Bose/moonroof option to get acceptable audio quality. It has a lot of road noise on hiway, if the surface is rough, but all in this class have road noise. There maybe an issue with windshield cracking so get $50 deductible on your insurance. I paid $25K for a Touring /w Bose option back in January.

2013 - No major issues at all.
I did have mirror shake - Mazda dealer applied the TSB fix. It still shakes a bit, but within acceptable limits.
Mazda also replaced my backup camera as part of a special bulletin - it was working fine at the time. This was preventative replacement due to potential for water ingress on a range of 2013 production.
My biggest complaint is a rattle/tapping noise around the A-pillar, front left dash speaker. I've asked the dealer twice about this and both times "the mechanic could not replicate" (aka cause he can't be bothered)

I've saved at least $4000 over my previous car (gas + financing) so I am very happy!

I got my '15 grand touring (with no options) for $26k before TTL.

There really aren't that many threads on this forum about the Cx-5 reliability issues so I'd suggest reading through them. I did before buying so I knew what I was really getting.

Build date on my 2015 GT w/Tech is 04/14 and it has the newer-style mirrors. I haven't had it on the freeway enough to notice any mirror vibration but haven't noticed any nor hood shake. I was cruising in the 'burbs last evening with the driver window down and there is a slight rattle or wind-induced noise from the rear of the vehicle.

While the turn signals on new mirrors look more stylish, & visible from the front, I feel like they're more prone to damage/cracking.
I hit the passenger mirror against someone else's mirror going ~20mph & all it did was leave a black mark from the other mirror's plastic, that buffed. If I had a 2015, the lense would have probably cracked. Happened to my sister's TSX.

yes, i read through them and was able to pick up on the shaking side mirror and hood issue along with some electrical issues (read abt issues on the power seats and some other one-off issues with the tech package). Just wanted to see what other issues this car has.

Thanks for the help guys. Def getting an extended test drive when the time comes

I have what I would call "mirror vibration" at highway speeds. It's really not enough of an issue for me to worry about. I guess if there was a specific fix that reliably made the mirror dead steady at all speeds I would let them do that, but my impression is that even if I complain and get it serviced the best I could hope for is "slightly better." I'm assuming the issue is in the mirror mount itself, and unless/until they do a redesign of the entire part having it addressed is pointless.

My suspicion is that there was an earlier problem with "mirror shake", where the entire housing was shuddering at highway speeds, and to address this Mazda added bracing in the door to reduce flex at the point of attachment. Being aware of this, owners started staring at their mirrors and noticed a little vibration and assumed that this was the dreaded "mirror shake", but I can't imagine that the very slight issue I see would have necessitated changes to the door design.

I have a 2013, and I came from a 09 civic, as soon as I got the car and entered the highway, I noticed this very shaky side mirror, and I didn't even knew that mazda had those problems before, so yeah it's not about my knowing these problems prior unto buying the vehicle, just sayin, and I also drove a lot of cars that doesnt seem to have this kind of issues, nissan titan, cehvy uplander, dodge caravan old and new, honda civic, crv mazda tribute, chevy impala, buick randevous don't know the spelling LOL! uhmm what else toyota corolla, nissan bluebird I can keep going on the list but yeah this is my opinion.

They did fix my side mirror, was not as bad as I first got it. But I had to look for a new dealership, cause the one that I bought my car with would not fix it.
