I went with my brother to see the new Fords, man, the tech is out of this world. one word commands that gets to know you. When a text comes in, a sexy voice say, You have a text, shall i read it. and she does and you can reply. They showed it with an iPhone too. The screen is longer that tall, like HD and the album art is super.

The show person said it had been in testing for a few years. I mentioned my Mazda...he said, Fords don't let their customers down.

I don't know, but it looked like ‎AMOLED display, super clear. I know their last system sucked too, but at least they came back full horse...

ps your contact picture is on the screen when in a call too. It makes my CX5 like a atari form the 80's

Will we hear in years to come 100-200-300K miles without any major electronic issues? Long gone are the days where simple fluid changes ensured longevity.

I had a loaner QX50 a few months ago...fully loaded...AWD, hybrid..and tech to the hilt. I thought to myself.. I can't imagine the cost to keep this thing going at 150K miles and many years beyond the warranty.

Ford's system is still a turd in terms of reliability. It is known to be the least reliable infotainment system in the industry.

This also has zero relevance to "CX-5 Car Audio & Electronics".

I have been wondering that very thing, with all this new tech going into, well, everything, how well will it hold up. If you buy a used 2015 vehicle 10 years from now, how much of it's original tech will still be working on it??

I have a very recent lemon/warranty lawsuit settlement that says something very different...

In fact, given the choice between an unreliable and outdated head unit (which I could replace aftermarket) or an unreliable drivetrain and safety systems (which I can't replace aftermarket), I chose the Mazda. Sure, it can't play an iPod that a 10 year old Kenwood radio had no problem with, but at least I'm not afraid to drive it.

I don't care for Fords, I am just saying why cant Mazda do a better head unit. that is all. I have a Android tablet I got for 150.00 and it does exactly what the head unit does, but better.

real time traffic, BT shows album art. you name it for 150.00. Don't you think Mazda went to cheesy on the current unit. and now with Side sync by Samsung, it will take calls too.

Does your last name happen to be Ford? Or did you use to love Fors

The current unit has been phased out for over a year. Since the released of the Gen3 Mazda3...

I agree 100%.

+1... the 30+ year IT geek in me admires the tech in cars but the dynamics of this car really outshine any technical minuses many may see. I'm content with what it has on the tech side and if I ever decide in 5-10 years it isn't adequate I will plop in whatever is available.

I'm glad the HVAC isn't integrated into it. This makes aftermarket that much easier.

So a show/salesperson told you how awesome the tech was and gave you an amazing demo?

Yeah. I think I'll wait until real customers use it before I draw any conclusions.......
