2015 CX-9 Engine question

Mechanic replaced both engine and transmission. The engine starts but car won't move. The mechanic is saying I need AWD engine but the place where I bought engine from is saying there is no such thing as AWD or FWD engine and there is no issue with the engine. I checked on Ebay and I don't see sellers listing the engines as AWD or FWD. At this point I am kind of lost and don't know what to do. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you

don't think there is such a thing as awd or fwd engine, transmission problem? Doesn't engage in 1st gear?

well seems like a transmission problem, if the engine works, not an engine problem

The engines are the same. You have a transmission problem, not an engine problem. You also have a mechanic problem.
