2014 Mazda6 with i-Eloop to receive 40 mpg hwy rating!

Pardon if this has been posted already. I did a quick search around on the 2014 Mazda6 Forum and didn't see anything.

Mazda has announced that the already efficient Mazda6 (currently rated at 38 hwy) will get a 40 mpg hwy rating when equipped with i-Eloop. Unfortunately, at least early on, it is only going to be offered on the top line Grand Touring trim with Tech package. But if consumer demand is high enough, maybe it will work its way down to the Touring trim?

I love that Mazda is going its own way in pursuing fuel economy. I think it's fantastic they're able to achieve 40 mpg highway without resorting to a soulless hybrid. I can't wait to see the MPG figures with the diesel! I'm assuming it will be offered with i-Eloop as well.

I'm hoping it will. Easy 45+ hwy mpg rating.
