I get right around 24 mpg on winter gas with AWD and snow tires on. I'm ok with that as it's been VERY cold in central New York. In warm weather I average 27 mpg and can get 30 if I try. I will echo what billybud stated, the CX 5 is very sensitive to how YOU drive.

2) when you warm up the car in the morning, how long do you let it sit?
3) are the tires wearing evenly? (could point to poor factory alignment or something bent)
4) A new car that hasn't broken in WILL get poorer mileage. It takes at LEAST 10,000 miles to break in, give it time.

I have an account with GasBuddy, you can also record mileage there and view current gas prices etc.

I've been getting 30-31 mpg on winter gas with AWD and snow tires. I'm OK with that because once the weather warms up and I ditch the snow tires I'll be getting 33-37 mpg. Always save receipts so you can do the manual calculations because my trip computer tends to display around 0.5-1.2 MPG too high. After owning this car I just can't enjoy driving my 2010 F-150 at 17 mpg. The truck feels gutless in comparison and it makes a sucking noise when I push on the accelerator.

Is there a "BREAK IN" for new generation cars? did anyone with CX5 noticed it on their vehicle?

What happened is, for the first time since the car was new I've lost one of the fuel receipts. I think I have one fuel-up since then that has not been entered (around 31 mpg). Still hoping it will turn up somewhere.
mine got better after first oil change approx 6500, break in oil must be different, few posted similar.

Just keep entering and use the 'i missed a fuel up' check box and it'll adjust accordingly.
Also if you use the odometer option vs trip computer it'll be a bit nicer since there's one less step to forget, and you can just write the odo reading on the receipt for later entry. Also there's a text-in option you can activate and it works beautifully for those that won't load the app on their phone.
I had a 08" Rabbit and I was getting in Los Angeles city driving 20-21mpg. Ones I took a longer trip, to San Diego and I have reached the advertised 29mpg.
Now in the same traffic in LA, my car shows 24.8mpg, mostly city driving, freeway is almost as street driving. I'm happy.

i wish i was getting what you are saying - i average 14.8l /100km the best i have had was 13.2l/100km when I took it for longer driver on highway. I reset every fillup I have put 2000km on CUV, mileage is horrible even for winter conditions.
Thanks the biggest concern in recent history was buying a AWD SUV and getting around 20mpg with that kind of mileage my biannual 24 hour straight drive to Dallas will not have to stop as much. Last year drove the Fit average around 29 mpg and only has a little over 10 gallon tank.
Wow, that is much higher than it should be.
I average 10.9l/100km these days, mostly city driving in bad Montreal traffic, in cold temperatures that vary between -10 and -25 degrees Celsius. AWD GT with the 2.5 engine. The car has 14 000 km on the odo.
