2013 Mazda CX-5 Passenger seat sensor problem?

Hello guys,

i am hoping someone here can help me resolve my issue without an expensive repair.

I recently bought a used CX5 and everything was going well. after a few weeks, i started encountering an intermittent issue.

I turn off the car, my key is in my pocket, and when i open the door to leave, i get a beeping sound, which prevents me from locking the door.

It ends up going away after playing with the push start button a couple of times without turning on the ignition.

Anyone had this issue ?

It's probably your transmission park switch getting flaky. There's a lot about this on the forums and it's fairly easy to replace. Happened on my 2014 some years ago, and in my case, the mount was just loose/worn and I shimmed it and it's been fine ever since.

I replaced the park switch on my CX5. There is a small plastic part that clips on the front part of the switch. I noticed that I the legs with the clips on it got stretched out. I put it back on and it did clip in place but probably not as well as it should. It is just a little molded plastic part and should be pretty cheap to replace.

Here is a picture and I've circled part of this part that is visible in the picture. It is a little bigger than this and some of it is hidden in this picture.

Does anyone know what the part number or name is for this part?
