January 3rd 2012 – CORAL SPRINGS, FL –Team i-MOTO is very happy to announce the signing of Exclusive Management Inc. (EMI) ladder driver Jayson Clunie and five-time World Challenge Touring Car Champion Pierre Kleinubing.

Jayson and Pierre will pilot one of the i-MOTO Mazdaspeed 3’s and will contest for both the drivers and manufacturers championships in the Continental Cup ST Class of the Grand Am series for 2012.

Pierre Kleinubing, a veteran to professional motorsports and to i-MOTO racing, will return to the team for the third straight year as team lead driver and driver coach.

“His talent and success ranks among the highest in professional motorsports. It is an honor and a privilege to have him part of i-MOTO for another season,” said team owner Glenn Bocchino.

Jayson Clunie, a resident of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada, will make his Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge series debut with i-MOTO. Although a rookie to the CTSCC, Clunie has been an active, and successful driver since 1998 when he began his career racing stock cars. He moved into karts in 2001 and raced in the Honda Canada, DD2 and Rotax divisions for many years. During this time he amassed numerous Saskatchewan Kart Racing Championships and Canadian and Western Canadian Kart Racing Championships and competed in the TAG division at the USA Kart Championships and Stars of Karting. Clunie has worked hard to advance his career and in 2009 he took another step forward when he competed in his first open wheel race in the Jim Russell Championship Series F3 division where he placed 2nd in his class. Since then Clunie has picked up a rookie of the year title and a third place championship finish in the Skip Barber MAZDASPEED MX5’s in the Skip Barber 2011 Winter Series.

“Signing with i-MOTO and having the privilege to drive with Pierre Kleinubing for 2012 is not only an honor but a dream come true,” said Jayson Clunie. “I tested with the team in late November. The team made me feel at home right away. The entire crew was incredibly professional and organized which made my job very easy. I was able to get up to speed quickly on an unfamiliar track and in an unfamiliar car. I ran consistently in the top 3 of the time sheets and was very proud of my performance. I knew at that test that i-MOTO was a good fit for me. I have to thank my manager, Michael Duncalfe of Exclusive Management Inc. and team owner Glenn Bocchino for pulling this deal together. I really can’t imagine a better environment to be in. I am looking forward to a breakout rookie season and making a run at both the driver and the manufacturers championships.”

“Racing with Pierre and i-MOTO for his rookie season is a fantastic opportunity for Jayson. An opportunity that quite frankly doesn’t come around all that often. Jayson is a talented driver bringing speed and sound decision making to the track. I think the pairing will be dynamic and will have every opportunity to capture championships and podium finishes this year,” said Exclusive Management Inc. President and CEO, Michael Duncalfe. “A huge thanks to Glenn Bocchino for working with me to pull this together. It is going to be an exciting season and we are looking forward to getting things going at the test days in Daytona this weekend.”

The duo will make their 2012 debut at the January Test Days at Daytona International Speedway, January 6-8.

Oh snap. It's good to see Pierre returning for another year. That man don't mess around when it comes to these types of cars. Clunie sounds like a solid driver. I'm sure he'll get the hang of it pretty quickly and do some damage himself.

January 5th 2012 CORAL SPRINGS, FL Team i-MOTO announces the signing of successful race veteran Izzy Sanchez and open wheel, stock car and go-kart rising star Tom Dyer.

Izzy and Tom will pilot one of the teams Mazdaspeed 3s to contest for the drivers and manufacturers championship in the Continental Cup ST Class of the Grand Am series for 2012.

Tom Dyer is a second-generation race car driver with a natural talent that began while growing up around racetracks throughout North America. Racing is in his bloodlines that has been passed down from his father, Buzz, who raced professionally from the 60s through the early 90s.

Toms own professional career started with go-karts where he accumulated many wins, set numerous track records, and won multiple class championships. After making the move to cars, he carried on that winning tradition when he added both open-wheel and stock car race wins and championships to his resume. For more information about Tom visit: http://www.tomdyer.com

Izzy Sanchez, a successful businessman with over 20 years of racing experience under his belt, Izzy understands what it takes to win and what it takes to make a sponsorship program successful. He has not only built Diablo Automotive into an incredible successful detail and automotive service business but has also been able to win National Championships and beat lap records at many venues. He has also pioneered efforts into a dynamic program that not only combined winning in racing but also in helping at risk kids in bettering their life. Sanchez is a highly energetic person that is able to motivate those around him. He is very well connected at the race track and is able to insure the success of a racing team with the many people that are key to making that happens.

Over his 20 plus years of racing, he has won titles such as the 1979 SSB regional championship, 1983 SSGT National Championship 1984 SSGT Western Divisional Championship, Izzy and his brother Luis were successful competitors in the Playboy Endurance Series The Escort Endurance Series, and the World Challenge Series. Having been covered in magazines such as Road and Track, Car and Driver and Autoweek, Sanchez has built the relationship that will get a racing team and their sponsors the exposure they need. He has experience working with successful sponsors including company such as: NEC, SUN Microsystems, Zyvex, Chevrolet, Nissan, Porsche, Goodyear, Champion Spark Plugs, Red Line Oil and others.

In order to succeed in professional motorsports, you must translate skilled drivers, high-tech machinery and sponsor support into a well-oiled team effort. Its fantastic to teach the kids mechanical and social interaction skills and watch them develop during the season, commented Izzy Im so thrilled about the opportunity to return to Pro-Racing but not only to be able to do it with Glenn Bocchinos excellent i-MOTO Racing Team but in the best series in the USA The Continental Cup ST Class of the Grand Am series for 2012. Im not only with a great Team but with Mazda the Marque I started racing with back in 1976 and the Marque I won my first race and my first Divisional Championship.
This is something I have dreamed about for a long time.

Wait till you guys get to see the race televised. That finish was a nail biter for sure!

Speaking of... tomorrow at noon on SPEED.

February 6th 2012 – DAYTONA BEACH, FL –Team i-MOTO starts the season with a strong team performance in the opening round at Daytona International Speedway.

Team i-MOTO Mazdaspeed 3’s finished:

- 1st Place went to rookie driver Jayson Clunie and five time World Challenge Touring car champion Pierre Kleinubing.
- 4th Place went to the young Canadian Mazda talent Taylor Hacquard and team owner Glenn Bocchino
- 5th Place went to the California race veteran Izzy Sanchez and pro driver Tom Dyer

Kleinubing and Clunie give Mazda its second professional Mazdaspeed 3 Win with a flawless performance by both drivers start to finish. Jayson was forced to start from last, because of a very rare mechanical issue, causing Jayson to miss qualifying. Fortunately, Jayson and Pierre saved the best performance for the race, motoring through the field, making one smart pass at a time. The final laps of the race saw Pierre working with KIA driver Nic Jonson to bump-draft past the Bimmerworld BMW, setting up a final lap drama with Pierre edging the factory KIA by two feet at the finish line.

Season opener Daytona 200 win gives Pierre and Jayson the ST driver points lead and Jayson Monticello Motor Club Rookie of the Year Award points lead. Plus Jayson and Pierre will take home the SunTrust Improve Your Position Award!

The dream continues for team i-MOTO!

Normally my man Levi would update this, but in light of the situation I am going to let you guys know what happend to Taylor Hacquard. A couple of days ago, Taylor was walking to his girlfriend's house, when he was jumped by a group of people. He suffered some severe head trauma, with brain swelling, internal bleeding and other injuries. As of last night, they removed the tube from his throat and he is now breathing on his own and is conscious and speaking. If you get a chance, go on facebook and let the Taylor and his family know that our community is behind them with our payers and wishes.

Glenn B's fb post from Sunday:

"Many of you were asking what happened to Taylor. Taylors dad gave me permission to tell everyone what happened.

Taylor was attacked while walking to his girlfriends house late last night. The attack was unprovoked and he was beaten into a state of unconsciousness and was found on the side of a road. He was rushed to hospital last night. He is suffering from head trauma. The breathing tube has ...been removed and he is resting comfortably. There is bleeding in his brain and for now, we wait for better news. He is in intensive care. If the bleeding stops on its own it will be better than the surgical option but it's in gods hands from here on in. He is grumpy, nauseous and still thinks he is leaving for Miami soon.

Thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers."

Update from Glenn B on fb 2 hours ago:

"I spoke to Mike, Taylors dad last night. Taylor is doing much much better. All the tests are good. No internal bleeding or damage. He said there is a good chance he will be release from the hospital by tomorrow. Taylor has complete memory loss. The police are investigating the incident. He was very lucky a truck driver found him unconscious on the side of the road when they did. That person most likely saved his life! Taylor, is great kid, never in trouble, always the first to help you out, he was raised very well by his parents. Its sad when something like this happens to good people. Taylor is tough and strong willed, he will bounce back."
