2012 Mazda3 seat removal question

Hello all,

The driver's seat rail is broken on my wife's Mazda3. It's a non-powered seat.

I ordered a new seat base assembly and attempted to make the repair. Removed all the bolts without issue. It's removing/disconnecting the wiring harness(after the battery has been disconnected for over an hour) that is giving me trouble.

Can anyone provide advice for disconnecting the wiring harness and removing the seat base.

There's hoop that you flip up before the harness will release. It's usually colored black, blue, or green.

I have to ask, but does your wife weigh 300 lbs? I've never heard of a seat rail breaking. Do you know how it happened?
