2010 SPEED3 burnt clutch?????!!!!!!

He seems like he doesnt have great social skills, and most likely has not dealt with a dealer before... Sorry to hear this, OP, but good luck in life.

Dude, you need to be nice to your service manager, that dude is your friend in life. Now one thing I told you was go to another dealer if that one displeases you, s*** what is a couple more miles if its going to save you some dough. Leave your options open. Drive a ******* KIA if you want, but when you burn the clutch up in your Seoul what are you going to do.

How the hell did he do that? I'm sorry, that's not something you do by mistake, even if you're a new manual driver. You can't easily do that and Mazda's manual transmissions won't shift into first gear easily at all if you're doing more than like 10mph. When I first started with my car I accidentally went from 5th to 1st (accidentally skipped 3rd, not used to the gears being so close together) and when I started letting the clutch out I heard a NASTY noise and pushed the clutch back in - problem solved. Either your friend is not very smart or I'm calling shens.

That was my first question to him, he said the gear will not go in so he forced it in, I was like dude there is a lock, if the car is going over a certain speed it will not allow you to down shift. He said that he did not know that. Bear in mind this guy is over 250lbs so he used a lot of force.

yea i know i downgraded, but my social skill are very good id say, cause they messed up i got a brand new mazda 3 GT fully loaded for only $22000, so now i might not have a turbocharger but i do have around $5000 extra in my pocket. not that im braggin but i think its a pretty good deal.

So you did get the difference in money between the Speed and the regular 3?

Either way, I wouldn't call it a good deal... 160hp vs 260hp? I don't know about that...

I still do not understand how he is proud of going from the MS3 with all or more features and more power than the regular 3, to a Gt and cash back. Sorry man, it still sounds like a bad deal.

ok so after long negotiations with the dealer im switching to mazda 3 gt cause my car is still not ready and i do need a car, its the last time in my life i ever deal with mazda. id rather drive a ****** kia. thank you everyone for posting u've been a great help

Hate to break it to you, but you still have a Mazda and yes you will be dealing with them again.

maybe a long shot since i dont know this dude from a can of paint... but maybe he downgraded to get an AUTO tranny since he couldnt drive the manual!

i lost a turbo but i gained alot more features, so i dont regret it and as for manual or automatic for me it doesnt make much difference

look on the bright side, you probably got a lower monthly payment and 5k extra in the pocket ain't a bad deal either.

yeah but going down from a speed to normal and going again manual if it is soo no way man!!

whoa I am stunned. first problem, albeit a major component and the car gets traded in cause he didnt want to wait for them to fix it. did you not get a loaner while they had your car?

anytime a dealer was being douche like, i ask him to hold on for a moment while I called Mazda Corp, it has worked 9/10 times without ever having to call em and it worked the 1 time I did.

If your happy thats what matters. I just cant see downgrading after I made the choice on what I wanted cause i was too impatient.

Not to sidetrack this thread but some people were saying that you cannot go into first gear over a certain speed. In ALL of my other manual transmission cars this was the case. NOT SO IN MY 3s GT. I can be doing 70 mph and easily get the stick to go into first gear. Granted, I havent let the clutch out going that fast because Im not a retard. However, it will go in just as smoothly going that fast as it will sitting still. Try it out if you dont believe me. There's no way my transmission is a factory freak that works perfect AND lets you shift into 1st at any speed.

DO NOT DO THIS!!!! If you are trying to destroy your clutch instantaneously, this is a great way to do it!! You say you haven't let the clutch out when doing this because you are not retarded.... perhaps you better rethink that. If you get the transmission into 1st gear at 70 MPH with the clutch pedal pushed in, do you know what is happening to the clutch disc? That disc, which includes somewhat fragile friction material, will be spinning at roughly 16,000 RPM. If it explodes at those speeds, there is actually a good chance pieces of that clutch disc are going to join you inside the car!!!

Not without violence in your tranning no matter what! You may only think you are in first and if you are why? No one should ever even try to put your car in first like that....
