So, i have a great deal on some 2010 MS3 springs, and i'm not really wanting to go too crazy with my 3, so it's perfect for me. only thing is, i heard the 1st gen MS3 springs actually lifted the front of the stock 3 by 1/2" due to a weight difference. i'm in a 5 door, and that's the 2.5L...any knowledge would help. i just might have to just do this myself and post the results.

I can't tell you what the result would be. My guess would be that it would be a lot more "bouncy" due to the lack of weight to properly compress the springs. But I threw some MZ3 springs on my speed and it worked out perfect! It looked better than now with the coilovers. But that will change when it warms up. I say go for it. Nothing is ever learned if nothing is ever tried.

yeah, i moved to a new house that's built into the side of a hill...so i almost scrape as it is pulling into my driveway. lowering ideas went out the window. anyone else try it?

I had the stock 1st gen ms3 springs on my 2nd gen ms3 lowered it a bit, not too much but it was noticable. No extra bounciness, def an upgrade from the stock mz3 springs though. tighter in the corners and I aut x'ed on them so my trials were legit. I would do it, it only drops the car maybe .5 inches but its def noticable over the stock ride height. I'll see if I can dig up pics for ya, compared to stock.
