2010 Mazda6 Rear deck speakers

I have a non-bose 2010 mazda6 touring plus I notice that the rear deck has speaker grill in the middle. I believe this is where the Bose system would have a sub. Does anyone know if a sub can be installed in this spot? If so what size and how difficult is it to get to? If that doesn't seem feasible I will probably go with an Infinity Basslink so not to lose trunk space.

I am in the same situation. It looks like there is space for an 8" sub and four other speakers like 2 3 1/2 and 2 5/7 maybe? These are probably part of the 11 speaker Bose system which I do not want to upgrade to. Though under the deck in the trunk is a pretty formidable copper plate. Anyone know if it is possible to add any or all of these speakers to the original 2010 receiver? Is it problematic to add an amp for the extra speakers? I find this stock system full of bass but lacking highs and absolutely no mid range.
