I plan on hitting up:

Vail Tour
Farmington Tour

Lincoln Pro
Nats

For those of you who can swing it, you should definitely try to make it out to the Vail National Tour! Concrete (practice for Nats) and BEAUTIFUL scenery!

No more HS. I just sold my Civic of doom to a local autocrosser who wants to lemming it up for STS!

It's FSP time now.

But I'll greatly miss competing against all my HS friends at the tours/Nats. Not sure if everyone knows, but I was the only guy this year to go into the fence at Nats. Hit the sand off line towards the end of the East course, both feet in but it didn't matter. Missed the concrete light pole by about 6 inches. Hit the fence pole (luckily) and that stopped me. If I had just gone through the fence mesh, then I probably would have gone into the concrete barriers behind the fence. Ugh.

But what was cool was that when I got back into grid, I had 3 guys come up and offer me a ride in their car for my last run! I took my 3rd run in a buddy's mini. I was a) pissed at having gone into the fence with my car b) scared of doing the same in my friend's mini c) clueless as to how the mini was going to handle compared to my sloppy civic. Baby'd his car around and got a 54.0. If I had another shot, I'm sure I could have gotten into the upper 52's. Those mini's are unbelievable in "stock" form. I had no idea how well those handled!

Long story short: HS=great guys but not a place for an 89 civic si/daily driver.
Sorry I didn't get to meet you in Dixie or at Nats.

Anyone know how they are doing the prosolo's this year? Is it going to be points system like usual?

I want to do a couple pros to get into the finale. Luckily, Lincoln is only 500 miles away. Unluckily, there are no other pros near me under 1000 miles away.

Crap. I start planning a move to Wisconsin, and suddenly there's no Milwaukee Tour and no Atlanta national events to go back and visit. :(

I guess I'll be at Peru and Nats, hopefully.

and the power-sucking altitude (unless you have a turbo)! ;)

That was you? I didn't see it happen just heard about it. I worked that section and we were trying to figure out how an HS car was carrying that much speed...

Yep, me.

It started when they sent me out from grid. Soon as i left grid, there was a timing problem so I sat in line for about ten minutes in the blowing wind and lost all the heat we had built up in three runs to get (we were running first heat). Still went balls out especially in that corner. Car got loose on me, overcorrected, got off line enough to hit the marbles, into the fence, end of story. I slid for what felt like an eternity. I actually was decelerating until I hit the sand and then "sped up ie. quit decelerating". Felt like trying to stop on ice. Snapped a brake line when I hit the fence post. Thus, originally I thought I had lost brakes and thats why I went into the fence. But a witness told me he saw my tires locked up the whole time. They pulled me out of the fence. I drove back to grid, waved to the crowd, used my e-brake. Hopped in another car for my 3rd run, got some spare parts from the sts civic crowd, got the brakes fixed, and drove home the next morning.

Glad we arent going back there.

What car was that? I *might* have pictures of it as I was shooting HS both days, iirc.

Sitting in grid, that was one of my more awkward experiences I've had in autocross. Grid is telling us to get ready to go, and then we just wait for what seems like an eternity. We hear that something happened on course, but we don't know who or how bad.

Current plans call for me to go to.

Dixie tour
Romulus tour
D.C. Pro

Nationals.
