you can fit a family in a sedan easier than a short 5-door... the tall, narrow trunk is perhaps less practical than a full size one with a lid

i don't know what else to say except that's just not true. i have both, hatch is easier. hands down

and either way, we're not talking about Lotuses here. it's a little odd when the "hooray for sedans" crowd is cracking on the "added weight" of a hatch design.

after all, everyone knows that if you want REAL performance, you go with a 4-door sedan b/c a 5-door is soooo incredibly overweight in comparison...right?

"added weight" in the protege and protege5, ex vs p5 there is an 80 lbs difference, 2634 vs 2716, the msp is 2843. but i didnt compare that since im sure the turbo and whatnot adds a bit more weight.

There is also the arguement, some use, of how the weight distribution is more balanced with a hatch front vs rear.

O and can you fit a 6foot table in a sedan :)

if you can in a p5, you can in a protege sedan (assuming it's a folding table) ;)

:)

lol..at work i put a 3/4 height dresser, 5 foot table, twin size mattress folded in half, and an ottoman in my car, and had a passeger. it was.....interesting.

I can't see a thing from that so I'll reserve judgement. But chances are an ugly grill and headlights are possible :)

I guess those are great ways to rationalize driving a wagon

not really; the usual rationale behind choosing a 5-door hatch over a sedan is the added versatility. what it really does is point out that you don't really give up any meaningful performance by doing so.

Looks like a Mazda to me, the grille is very Mazda. I still have no idea why any of you are making comments on if the car looks good or not. How can you tell?

Considering every panel is covered in padding and tape to throw your eyes of the lines.

It actually looks too conservative, too much like the Legacy. Hopefully it was way too disguised and we'll see something much better.

I think they missed the big round fog lights and/or openings below the headlights... it seems pretty clear that they are there, despite the camo

The shape of the back end looks nice. I've always thought the impreza wagon's back end looks like they just decided to take a regular sedan, take off the trunk lid, and slap a liftgate and windows on there.

I will disown subaru if they make the STi and WRX a hatch!! Why would anyone want a fast hatch?? Actually, why do people insist on putting there family into a fast car?? Do you love your family?? The car is not made for a family car, you want a family car with balls go buy a Magnum. I think Subaru is just looking at sales with this and not sticking to heritage and because of this the Evo will own and Sti competition will be MS3! Im a HUGE fan of STi's but if they do this than EVO PWN'S!! It kinda like making a hatch Corvette and adding two more seats just because stupid people want to drive fast cars with there family in it!! Geez, whats happening to the world!!

Anyways.... (sad2) (flame)
