So I have decided to put up my speed3 to fish for some offers and see what kind of money I can get for it. I'm in no hurry to sell so I am not really interested in selling this far below blue book value. I am not motivated to "move" it but I figure if someone else is in the market for a nice clean Mazdaspeed3, mine would be a suitable choice.

The car is a 2008 (not the 2008.5) Grand Touring with navigation. The Grand Touring means it has the adjustable HID's, a trip computer, rain sensing wipers, automatic headlights, and probably some other bs that I don't know the Sport doesn't have.

=About the car=

I bought the car in October of 2010 and at the time it was a Carfax One Owner car and was accident free. I checked all the seam welds along the trunk, hood, and pillers and, while you never know for sure, I am 99% positive the car had never been in an accident (and obviously I haven't been in one either).

The car is c.l.e.a.n. I can literally point out every blemish on the car. Every door ding has been taken out as soon as it was noticed by a professional PDR (Paintless Dent Repair) guy with years of experience. It still has a hint of new car smell and the interior is absolutely spotless aside from some grass/dust on the driver/passenger side carpeting. Before it is sold I will vacuum/shampoo the carpets and hand wash the car. I don't know what else I can say to portray how clean the car is. I didn't drive it often, I never eat in it or allow other people to eat in it. I don't smoke and nobody is allowed to smoke in the car. Even soda was a questionable item if you were riding in my car. Oh, and the back seats were rarely used so the whole back of the car is basically mint.

The only damage of note is a LITTLE bit of curb rash on the front passenger side rim. All other rims are mint.

-Cabin Air Filter replaced at 29,000

No aesthetic modifications have been done other than a 25% tint on the rear windows and a Maryland legal 35% tint on the front windows. Winshield is stock tint. Performance wise I have installed a Cobb SF Intake and flashed it to Stage 1 + SF + 91 octane for a little extra kick. Other than that it has a short shift plate, and a corksport poly motor mount insert.

The car has never been taken to a dragstrip, autox track, or a road track, although I have done highway pulls against a couple of GTI's, an S2000, and an Evo X. Although I am not a professional driver I feel I am decently qualified to say that the pulls were done responsibly, no flooring it at 1500RPM and hitting boost, no powershifts/grinds/etc. It has never been driven hard while cold and I have always allowed cool-down time before
shutting it off. The car was purchased with 24,000 miles or so and the oil has been changed with Mobil1 full synthetic at 25,000 and 29,000

Good luck with your sale, I just sold mine and I had over 3K in mods that went with it and it was way less then what your asking and it was a 08.5GT just thought I'd share my 2 cents.

Thanks for the input and no worries. I'm not very motivated to sell although I am accepting offers. Like I said carmax already offered 17,000 cash WIHOUT nav and that would be with all the mods removed, meaning I could sell the accessport for ~400, intake for ~100, pads for ~50, SSP for ~30. Also, I called the sales manager and he said figure adding 650-1000 to the offer depending on the car with the nav.

So if a carmax trade is at ~18,000 I don't see the point in selling it much less than 20,000...although I am accepting reasonable offers.

I'm not looking to price gouge anyone but not looking to get less than carmax's offer at the same time.

I feel ya bro, if you can get that offer from carmax I would say that's probably the quickest and most effective way of selling..just my 2 cents.

I'll be completely honest by saying I agree with you. A couple of months ago my car was worth 19k or so excellent private party, now it's up to ~21,600. I actually remember reading an article on how the demand for used cars has increased a lot yet their supply has diminished with all the people buying new fords and whatnot. I found a similar article although it isn't what I originally read awhile back

Sometimes true, sometimes not. I think there are solid mods that if you are selling to a forum member, they would be putting some of the same mods anyway. Granted, they may not want to pay a lot extra for them, but I think they can make the vehicle more attractive.

While I generally agree with you the Cobb intake and a simple Stage 1 AP flash is pretty much what anyone would do to the car. Add in the motor mount insert and tranny fluid which greatly improves shifting.

I don't feel as though it is going to deter anyone...but if it does more power to them. I'd rather the buyer know what has been done to it.

In any case. if the car doesn't sell for 18-19k by the end of July to carmax it goes for 17. Thanks for the input though =).

@nate0123 While bluebook/nada prices are generally inflated...used car prices have surged recently. My car isn't too far above dealer auction prices, and it is definitely in better condition than an auction car. I don't feel my price is too unreasonable.

Yeah I hear that. I don't know about you but the torque steer from the LSD in the FWD is killing me (I came from a WRX before the MS3). But yeah man, if you do have luck selling the car and feel like making some extra money on that AP, definitely drop me a line or swing by if you see my car outside. GLWS.
