So, power tour is next week and I'm taking the speed 3 with me. Is there anyone else in Mazdaland that will be going? Maybe we can group together and avoid being brutalized by the muscle car guys. I am still a little uncertain about showing up with an import.
 
Sorry I couldn't resist! I wouldn't worry about it really. Just go and have a good time.
 
I really wouldn't worry about muscle car guys. Just go and have fun. The Power Tour is something that I would like to do someday.

I'm going to wane cynical for a second and say they won't give a damn.

Call me bitter, but I recently went to what I thought was diversified car meet. Once I got there I realized it was a muscle fest and when I attempted to talk to some of the guys about their cars they were interested up until the point I mentioned my own vehicle and it's specs. After that I only got snickers & chuckles. No respect for the speedy lil grocery getter.

I wish you better luck though.
 
I went to car craft last year which this event basically is but driving and I left early because we get no respect in our cars, and everyone just has some smart ass comments. I got the invite in the mail and just tossed it away cause we wont fit in. Its like being the curly, red haired, step child, nerd, retard, with big glasses, and a pocket protector.

As for the muscle car show, There are ignorant car guys and there are intelligent. Ignorant car guys are like Gator fans... they don't care about anything then "Go gators!!! woo!!"

The intelligent car guys are like most other NCAA fans, they will root for their team ti'll death, but also realize the finer points in the others. Yeah I love american muscle and will drive a big block V-8 ti'll I die, but it's cool to see that a little turbo 4cyl. is putting out almost as much as my engine, but half the size and twice the fuel economy.

not all muscle car and old school guys are like that.

Went to a Ford show (2000 plus cars)
i was actually talking to 2 gentlman that own original 427 AC cobras (not replicas, million dollar cars) and when 1 asked me what i drove i told him a MS3, and we chatted fo r15 minutes about the car which helped him in his descision fo rone!

Just go and be around the cars, dont care what the muscle car guys think. You have that type in every crown. But the true car guys that are in it as a hobby and enjoy it will be cool.
