What the @$#%!?

I hope my car is coming in soon. Seems odd that I was told build in July, haven't received a VIN and now they're showing up in CA!(confused)(confused)(confused)(confused)
 
Maybe since there was no change, dealers are printing out 2008 stickers for the windows in hopes of selling them faster... (rofl)

Wouldn't it just figure. Dealer called me and they now have my VIN. However e-mail issues have prevented them from sending it along. They think their IT department restricts e-mails iwth VINs for security reasons.

Oh well...I can always stop by and pick it up.

My problem is that I need to sell my car before I buy the MS3. Belvadere if I understand correctly, you received your VIN about two weeks before your car touched down in Texas. Had your dealer given you a VIN when the Mazda system updated? Or did they wait a while before reporting the VIN to you? My dealer tells me that Mazda's order system JUST updated my VIN info..

I'm just trying to figure out how much time I have. It sounds like your car had already arrived at Port when you received your VIN.

damn..they arrive too early. now I might have to speed up my purchase time. what color do they have for the 08?
 
Antonio, I got my VIN not quite 2 weeks before the car arrived. I'm guessing that I got the VIN when the car hit the port. I was determined to get a Silver GT and somebody pulled some strings when one hit the port. My dealer got the regional Mazda muckady-muck to snag it for them (and me). The only build date is found inside on the body (on a sticker inside the driver's side) of 06/07.

Thank you for the added info Belvadere. That all makes sense to me now.

Funny, my dealer sadi that my car wouldn't be built until first week of July. Looks like they started building 08's earlier than that.

What kind of key came with your 08? Switchblade or regular?
